My phone rang this morning. When I picked it up, I heard the sweet voice of a young lady.
“Are your dogs missing?” she asked.
I realized that it was my neighbor. So I went to find my dogs quickly. After I (1) that they were all there, I was very happy. Then I answered to my neighbor, “Thank you. (2) of them are missing.”
My neighbor is a nice lady. She often makes cookies and shares them with neighbors. She is willing to help anyone (3) . Today she found two small dogs walking down the street. She took them in.
“They are good and get along well with my dogs,” she continued.
“You did the right thing. Most people wouldn’t get involved in (卷入) the kind of thing.” I said. “ I wonder how many cars passed them by this morning and didn’t (4) stopping.”
Then I walked out of the house to see if someone had come to look for those dogs. But I found nothing.
Then an idea came to me. If I were (5) I would hope that someone would look for me. If I were crying, I would hope that someone would stop and speak to me. So, ask yourself today. Would you take in the dog? Would you look for a lost friend? Would you offer a kind word to (6) a stranger?
