57 countries have joined the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (亚洲基础设施投资银行，简称亚投行，AIIB) till April 5, 2015. South Korea, the United Kingdom, Australia, France, Germany and Italy all became its members. It shows these countries hope to share the results of the development of China and Asia. It also shows that China’s influence(影响) has risen to a new height.

More than 30 years ago, China was among the least developed countries. Since the reform and opening up, China’s economy has developed rapidly. Over the past years, China has surpassed Italy, France, the United Kingdom and Japan to become the world’s second largest economy. At present, China’s GDP is twice that of Japan and 64% of that of the US. China is now one of the two countries with a GDP of more than 10,000 billion US dollars. In 2014, China achieved(达到) 7.4% economic growth, the US 2.4%, the European(欧洲的) area 0.8% and Japan 0.2%. At the present speed, it is only a matter of time until China’s GDP surpasses the US’s.
