In these years, people in these regions like to take holidays during cold winter months. They go to the southern states where it is warmer, such as Florida, Texas and New Mexico.

It has become popular for old people to move south to these places when they retire. These people usually sell their houses in their home town and move south to begin a new life.

The southern parts of the country are now growing faster than the other parts. Texas and Florida are growing fast, too. They may soon replace such states as New York and Pennsylvania in population.
