It's very important that we all recycle. In nature, everything   (1)   again. For example, when an animal dies, it becomes   (2)   animal's food. Nothing is wasted. But humans have created things like plastic bags which can't be   (3)   down by nature.  People usually check whether their keys, purses and phones are with them before going out, but many people in China now have one more important thing to take, a mask (口罩). They hope it can protect them ____（1）__ terrible air.

   Many cities in China saw a lot of foggy days in April. In Beijing, there were eight days in April full of smog. It is dirty air ____  (1)  ____ looks like a mixture of fog and smoke. The smoke is mainly from cars and factories in cities. Poor air is bad for people's health, ____  (2)  ____ for children and old people. They fell ill easily and the ____  (3)  ___ were full of people. They had problems with their noses and lungs.

We all waste food, you and me, every day, millions of tons of it. In China, enough food is wasted in restaurants every year to feed 200 million people. And the amount of food wasted by Chinese consumers is increasing fast. So our nation is being encouraged to stop wasting food.

   So what should Chinese consumers do to prevent food waste?

   ◆Keep a kitchen diary

   All of us should keep a kitchen diary, and we can know that how much food we waste at home. The first thing for us to do is to stop throwing away food that we can still eat. We should eat everything we buy and if we cannot, we should buy less.

   ◆Buy only what we need

   We should ask for smaller portions in stores. We should also check how much food we have before buying more. We shouldn't bring much food we don't need home even if large posters ask us to do so.

   ◆Develop the habit of packing food

   Chinese consumers are generous and friendly. In restaurants, often too much food is ordered and served. So when ordering out, we are supposed to exclude the food in the order if we don't plan to eat it. And order smaller servings in restaurants and take home what we cannot finish.

   Don't put it off! Let's stop food waste today!

Denny Crook was a famous photographer. He travelled all over the world, taking pictures for magazines and newspapers, and won many prizes.

   “I'll do anything to get a good photo,” he often said. “I'll go anywhere at any time, ____  (1)  ____ it is dangerous.” And he told the truth. He had photos of earthquakes, forest fires, floods and even wars. If something interesting happened, Denny went to photo it.

   He was a married man and his wife often asked him to take her with him, but he always ____  (2)  ____. “I travel for my work, not for pleasure,” he told her. “You won't enjoy yourself, and I won't have ____  (3)  ____ to look after you. Sometimes there's not even anywhere to stay, and I have to sleep outside. I often don't have a good ____  (4)  ____ or a bath for days. You won't like it.”

   “Denny, I'm not a child,” his wife didn't ____  (5)  ____. “I can look after myself. Please take me with you the next time you go overseas.”

   David did not say anything, but he thought about it, and when he was asked to go to Africa, he said to his wife, “You can come to Africa with me if you want to. I've got to take photos of wild ____  (6)  ____ there. It should be interesting and not too uncomfortable.”

   His wife was very ____  (7)  ____, and at first she had a very enjoyable time. Then Denny went off to find some lions for photos. His wife went with him, but before long they became separated. She walked down one path while he walked down the other.

We were very pleased with the photo competition. Compared with other years, we received many more photos. Even though all of the photos are excellent, we can't give prizes to everyone. There are four prizes, so read on to find out who the winners are.

   The person who won the prize of the “Most Beautiful Nature” photography is fifteen-year-old Li Wei. Li took photos of the mountains in Xiangshan Park. The park isn't far from his home, about 500 metres, and he knows it well.

   The photo we liked best in the “Historic China” group was taken by Zhao Min. Zhao is only 12 years old. Her photo is of Tian'anmen Square, the largest public square in the world. It's 880 metres from north to south and 500 metres wide at the northern end. Her photo shows the size and beauty of the square perfectly.

   The best photo in “Music” category was taken by He Zhong who is fourteen years old. His photo of this year's best band Crazy Feet shows the singer, Becky Wang, and the band playing at a concert in Shenzhen. He Zhong manages to show the movement and the sounds of this great new band, and the fun which their fans are having.

   A collection of photos called the “Many Faces of Our City” which features Beijing won the prize for the “Most Unusual” category. Three pupils at the same school worked on this entry. It includes photos of different parts of the city, old and new. It successfully shows the rich culture which makes Beijing so famous.
