Tom lived alone and went to a pet store to buy a parrot . He thought the bird might fill his   (1)  hours . The next day ,however, he came back to  (2)   , “ That bird doesn’t talk.”

Jill：My grandparents live on a farm. I went there with my sister last month. We stayed for seven days. The weather was usually sunny，so most of the time I played outside with my sister. On the farm，I milked cows，fed chickens and rode horses. I had a lot of fun. I think my trip was great.

Mark：I went to Shanghai with my parents. I wanted to visit some museums，but my parents wanted to go shopping. I didn't like going shopping. So I stayed in the hotel and watched TV all day. It was really a boring trip.

Anna：I think the best place for a holiday is the beach. I went to Sanya with my brother last year. The sand there was white，and it looked very beautiful. We built a big house with it. We swam and enjoyed the sunshine. We ate many kinds of seafood. They were delicious. The trip was great. I hope I can visit there again one day.

 Tony is an English teacher in Japan. He is going to take a long holiday this summer. He thought about going to England .But he decided on China .He always takes holidays in Europe but this time he wants to do something different .He knows that China is very beautiful. Also he wants to practice his Chinese because he plans to work in China next year.

Tony is going to Beijing. He is leaving the first day in July (七月) and staying there until the last day of September (九月) .He plans to have an interesting holiday .He is going to see the Great Wall (长城),the Palace Museum Kunming Lake (西湖 )and the Summer Palace(颐和园).

Last week, students at Rosie Bridge School worked hard to make their English Week very successful.
