More and more people around the world are joining in dangerous sports. Some people climbed the highest mountains; some traveled into unknown parts of the world; some sailed small boats across the largest sea. Now some people begin to look for new excitement.

Bungee jumping (蹦极) and motorcycle racing (摩托车赛) are quite dangerous sports. Bungee jumping only lasts for a few minutes or even seconds. You jump from a high place, about 200 meters above the ground, and there is a rubber band (橡胶带子) tied to your legs. When you jump down, the rubber band pulls you up. About 2,000,000 people around the world have tried bungee jumping.

Why do people join in these dangerous sports. Some scientists say that it is because modern life has become safe and it is not interesting. In the past, people lived in danger. They had to go out and look for food, and life was like a fight but was interesting.

Many people think that there is little excitement in life. They live and work in safe places, buy food in shops, and there are doctors and hospitals to look after them if they become ill.

   Why do plants do that? Most plants get what they need from the sun, the air and the ground. In some places, the ground is very poor. It doesn’t have all these important things, especially nitrogen(氮)。 Animal meat has a lot of nitrogen, so some plants eat meat to get what they need. Let’s hope that bigger plants don’t get the same idea!

Banks and money

Banks are usually open between 9:30a.m.and 4:00 p.m.on Monday to Thursday and 9:30a.m.to 5:00p.m.on Friday．Travellers can change money at all the banks and some of the larger hotels．

During the day we work and play，and at night we sleep. Our body rests（休息）when we sleep. In the morning we are ready(准备)to work and play again. Our body grows most when we are asleep. Children who are tired usually need sleep. We can get better at our lessons after having plenty of rest. Boys and girls who are eight or nine years old need ten hours of sleep every night. Our body needs plenty of air when we are asleep. If we do not get enough fresh air, we will feel tired when we wake up(醒来). While in bed we must not cover(盖)our head, our lungs need to get enough fresh air. If we open our windows at night, we can have plenty of fresh air. Cool air is better than warm air.

 Our Mother-Daughter Kindness Circle in North Carolina gets together most months to create things. We give these things to other in the spirit of kindness. Some things are for strangers and others for others for our friends or family members.

   Last weekend we made flower pens. We took simple pens and attached (系上) a large silk flower to each pen. We made little note cards for each pen. We also wrote words about joy and kindness on them, such as “Let the beauty of what you love be what you do.”, “In such a soft and warm season, please accept my sincere greeting and deep love for you.” and other words on each pen.

   Many of the girls were making their pens for their school teachers. Each mother made one for her daughter, and each daughter made one for her mom.

   We had a wonderful time together sharing stories of kindness, and making something to special joy and kindness to people in our community.

In your life, there are a lot of people around you. They are your relatives, neighbors, friends or classmates. Sometimes you get along well with them, but sometimes don’t. What can you do when someone hurts you ? Most people may be angry or even fight with him. But it’s not a good idea. You’d better forget all this and forgive(宽恕，原谅)him.

   Maybe it’s not easy for you to do that, but it’s possible. Please remember: Keep a good mood, and you will keep healthy. Staying angry with others, in fact, means letting others' mistakes treat yourself unfairly．

   How can you forgive others?

   First，think of something pleasant and try to get yourself happy．

   Second, don't wait others to say sorry to you．If anyone hurts you，he won't say sorry to you．He may just want to hurt you or just don't see things the same way.

Third, try to see things in others' shoes．You can understand their minds better and make yourself a little happier．

   At last, tryto know yourself very well．Whose mistakes caused that，yours or others'? If it's our fault，try to say sorry to them．If it isn't，smile at the thing．

   The aim（目的）of students who come to school is to study. But to study requires (需要) a right way, or you waste either the time or the money. The followings are the ways of studying.

   The best time for reading is morning, because in the morning, the air is fresh and the mind is clear. For that reason, we can get good result

   In studying we must have patience. If we have not known a text well, we must read it again. We should not read the next one till we have understand the first one.

   When we are studying, we must put our hearts into the book, or we can get nothing from the book while we are reading.

   We must always ask "whys". If it is not well understood, write it down and ask our teachers , parents or friends. In any possible way, we must know it completely and what we’ve learned can be used well and made better.
