The price of rice changes during the year.

It is useful for rice farmers to know how the price changes, then they can sell their rice when the price is high. But it was hard for farmers to guess how the price would change from month to month.

Last year, the price of rice was very low in November. This was a bad time for farmers to sell their rice.November, December, and January were all bad months. The best month for farmers to sell rice last year was April.July and August were also good times to sell rice.

Between August and November, the price of rice were down every month.During other parts of the year, the price went up and down.

Dolphins are not fish. They are mammals (哺乳动物) , They live in groups and speak to each other in their own language. But they are quite different from almost all the animals. Their brain(大脑) is as big as man’s and they live a long life— at least 20 or 30 years.

Like some animals, dolphins use sounds to help them find their way around. They also use these sounds to talk to each other and to help them find food. They do not use their ears to get sounds, but use the jaw—the lower part of the mouth.

Dolphins are friendly to man, and for thousands of years, there are many stories about dolphins and man. In the 19th century, in a dangerous part of the sea near New Zealand, there was a dolphin. The seamen liked him very much and gave him a very good name, Jack. From 1871 to 1903, Jack met every boat in the area and showed them the way. In1903 apassenger(乘客) on a boat with the name “The Penguin” shot and hurt Jack. Luckily the dolphin didn’t die, and after a long time he was well again. He helped the ships find the way through the area for nine more years, but he didn’t help the boat “The Penguin”.

Today, some people still kill dolphins, but many countries in the world now protect them. In these places, people mustn’t kill them.

A Bite of China(舌尖上的中国) has become a hot topic on the Internet in China. It is a seven-episode(集) program. It is about traditional Chinese food.

The documentary has attracted over 100,000,000 Chinese audiences(观众). Most of them don’t see this program as a common food show, because it shows them the value of Chinese food and the changes in China today. The audiences can see how hard the cooks and farmers work to make such wonderful Chinese food.

Chen Xiaoqing, the lead director of the program, says that the program is not only about eating, but also about Chinese culture. His friend Liu Wen said, “We also wanted to show international audiences what China is like today.”

A Bite of China will be out of English version(版本), ” said Chen Xiaoqing. “We should be thankful to the people who make so much delicious food.” added a reporter Wang Lu.

              Dear Mr. Heppell,

I am Sabrina Akhtar. I study in a high school and I’ve noticed that forests are disappearing.

You know, forests are disappearing around the world each year. This is because of many different reasons including farming, tourism pollution, etc. If we stop doing these things, there will be a better future for people of tomorrow.

Now I’m writing to ask you to help stop forests from disappearing. You can help by getting shops to stop selling paper made from trees but to sell tree-free paper (paper not made from trees). This will help forests so much. There are many, many things we can do to help forests. If you would like to know more, please visithttp://www.rainforestweb.org.By changing little things, we can make a big difference.

If you would like to get in touch with me, please visit the above website or e-mail me atshazadinol @ hotmai.co.uk.Thank you for taking your time in reading this letter.

              Yours sincerely,

              SabrinaAkhtar

I have two daughters and one son. They are Mary, Laura and Eric. Mary is seven. Laura and Erie are five. They watch a lot of television, maybe five hours a day. I'm worried that it's much. What should I do?

              Catherine

Television can be a way of learning and relaxing. But studies show that too much television can make kids more likely(可能的) to be fat and fight with others.

The American Academy of Pediatrics(AAP,美国儿科学会) says that older kids shouldn't watch more than 1-2 hours of television every day, and that kids under the age of two should not wash any television. The shows kids watch should be educational. All in all, kids shouldn't watch too much television. You should ask them to spend more time playing with friends, exercising or reading.

Reporter:       What was the best part of your visit, Julia and Roddy?

Julia and Roddy: The tour of the Film Park.

Reporter:       What did you like most about the Film Park tour?

Julia:          The Dinosaur Jungle was my favourite. It was hot and smelt like a real jungle. We saw some baby dinosaurs. Then a really big one appeared. Although it was only a model, it looked very real ! I almost jumped out of my skin!

Roddy:        I really liked the Great Wave. It was wonderful. Everything was quiet. Then suddenly we saw a huge wave coming towards us. There was a terrible noise, and the wave seemed to come over the top of us, but we didn't get wet at all! I don't know how they did it.

Reporter:      Did you see any famous stars at the film park?

Roddy:        No, we didn't, but we did visit a film set after the tour. The crew were shooting a scene showing some students in a school. They needed some more actors for the scene. To cut a long story short, the director chose me to appear in the film.

Reporter:       Oh, really? Did you enjoy working as an actor, Roddy?

Roddy:        Yes, I did. It was really interesting.

Reporter:      Did you have any difficulty in acting?

Roddy:        To be honest, it was a piece of cake!

US First Lady Michelle Obama, along with her mother and two daughters made their first trip to China from March 20 to March 26. They went toBeijing,Xi’anand Chengdu.

In a speech at Peking University, Mrs Obama encouraged students to study abroad. “It’s not enough to get good grades in school,” she said in the speech. “It is better to travel 10,000 miles than to read 10,000 books. The experiences in other countries help make our life successful. By learning each other’s languages and by showing such curiosity (好奇) and respect (尊重) for each other’s cultures, you are building bridges of understanding and bonds of friendship,” she said. The US is the top destination (目的地) for Chinese students. More than 200,000 Chinese students are now studying in the US. In 2009, US President Barack Obama announced (宣布) his goal of sending 100,000 students to China. Since then, more than 68,000USstudents have come to China. What’s more, many kids in the US are now studying Chinese. “Learning Chinese is a cool thing in school. It is good for our future,” said Mason Grabowski, 1445, a student from Chicago. “It is a hard language, but it is never too early to start learning it.”
