Yang Min, 15, of Shanghai, checks the phone for a missed call or message more than 60 times a day. “I can’t focus in class or do homework,” Yang says. “What’s wrong with me?”

Yang, along with many other teenagers in China, gets into trouble by using high-tech products like mobile phones and i-pads. High-tech products are good, but they also bring us many problems.

Wang Zihan, 16, of Beijing, used to check his e-mail every day. But in the last six months, he hasn’t visited his e-mail box. “There is too much junk mail in my box,” said Wang, “I have to find one piece of useful mail in mountains of junk mail. That’s annoying. ”

When Xu Shengna visited a website sent by a stranger last year, the 14-year-old lost her QQ account(账号) to a virus(病毒). She was very angry. “It was a terrible thing for me. QQ is the only way for me to communicate with some of my classmates and friends,” said Xu. “Now I have lost contact(联系) with them. I’ll never visit any websites sent from strangers again,” she added.

“High-tech products give modern middle school students a new way to learn and communicate,” said Liu Xiaodong, headmaster of a high school in Shanghai. “But students need self-control and they should learn to stay away from trouble. High-tech products can be their good teachers and friends.”

Dolphins are not fish. They are mammals (哺乳动物) , They live in groups and speak to each other in their own language. But they are quite different from almost all the animals. Their brain(大脑) is as big as man’s and they live a long life— at least 20 or 30 years.

Like some animals, dolphins use sounds to help them find their way around. They also use these sounds to talk to each other and to help them find food. They do not use their ears to get sounds, but use the jaw—the lower part of the mouth.

Dolphins are friendly to man, and for thousands of years, there are many stories about dolphins and man. In the 19th century, in a dangerous part of the sea near New Zealand, there was a dolphin. The seamen liked him very much and gave him a very good name, Jack. From 1871 to 1903, Jack met every boat in the area and showed them the way. In1903 apassenger(乘客) on a boat with the name “The Penguin” shot and hurt Jack. Luckily the dolphin didn’t die, and after a long time he was well again. He helped the ships find the way through the area for nine more years, but he didn’t help the boat “The Penguin”.

Today, some people still kill dolphins, but many countries in the world now protect them. In these places, people mustn’t kill them.

Usain Bolt said he planned to keep his Olympic 100m and 200m sprint(短跑比赛)titles(冠军)at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Games(里约奥运会). Bolt, who kept both titles as well as the 4x100m in London, said he decided against changing to either the 400m or long jump.

“To do the three sprints, that is the focus(焦点). I don’t want to try any different events at Rio,” he said, “I will just keep my titles to show the world there’s a possibility I can do it again.” The 26-year-old runner insisted he would keep on his hard training.

Bolt also holds the 100m and 200m world records. He added, “It’s all about hard work. I did great when I was young. People used to say I was fast for my age and talent, but I have put a lot of work into it since I was a senior athlete. I continue to work hard, continue to stay focused and push myself. So for me that’s the focus right now—to see how fast I can go and I try to go faster each year.”

Bolt became the first man to keep two Olympic sprint titles in London in 2012. He won the 200m in 19.32 seconds. And he also won the 100m in 9.63 seconds, just 0.05 seconds slower than his own world record.

Bolt’s focus on sprints shows us that it doesn’t matter if we try something different. The most important is to keep working hard.

A 36-year-old high school teacher who suddenly died while proctoring an exam last week stirred up discussions on social media, where the students were criticized for being oblivious(不注意的) to the situation at hand.

Wu Ping, a music teacher at Jichuan High School in Taixing, Jiangsu Province, passed away while monitoring a final exam seated at the back of the classroom on Thursday morning. It’s reported that she died of heart failure.

However, a heavily-circulated WeChat post, written by a local parent, kicked up controversy(公开辩论) after it described how her daughter calmly recounted her teacher’s death "without the slightest bit of pity."

According to the post, the students kept their eyes on their exams in spite of hearing Wu groaning in pain. It was only when they finished did students notice the teacher was foaming(吐白沫) at the mouth. Though the post pointing out that some students told this thing to a teacher in the next classroom in the end, the post accused the students of showing a lack of empathy and hesitating to react.

Xiao Chunhua, deputy chief of Taixiao education bureau, said the students are not to blame. "The teacher was sitting at the back of the classroom during the exam. We understand that the students might not have noticed something was wrong with the teacher," Xiao told thepaper.com.

The report saw more than 50,000 comments on news portal 163.com, where many called the incident a failure of China’s test-focused education system(应试教育体制).

Sometimes the easiest way to get somewhere is on the back of a bike.

More and more people are using cars in many places in Africa today. However, things are different in Malawi (马拉维). Bikes are the most popular in this African country.

Bike riding is a way of life in Malawi. People use them to carry heavy things. They also use bikes to carry people, especially tourists. These years, taking a “bicycle taxi” to travel around Malawi has become quite popular among tourists from all over the world.

If you go to Malawi, you will find a lot of bike taxis waiting on the sides of the roads. The riders make the bikes comfortable for passengers to sit on. You can jump on a bike taxi and get around at a very low cost.

Alice is a 21-year-old student from Canada. She enjoys the special bike riding a lot. “I really like the bike taxi,” she says. “It’s easy and cheap.” Alice usually pays just $1 for going shopping in town.

28-year-old Panjira Khombe began to ride a bike taxi two years ago. The young man enjoys this job. “I used to make boats for a living, but that’s a hard job. Being a bike taxi rider is easy for me and I don’t mind carrying heavy people,” he says.

Have you seen the movie The Jungle Book? It tells the story of the boy called Mowgli. He grows up with a group of wolves and has to go on a journey of self-discovery . But is it possible for animals to raise a human in real life?
There are many stories that suggest it is possible. Not just wolves and dogs, but also sheep, bears and even monkeys are able to look after human children.
Police found Ivan , a 6-year-old in Moscow, living with dogs in the city streets in 1998. There, Ivan found food to feed the dogs. And in return, the dogs kept him warm while he slept and protected him. When he was saved, he couldn’t speak . Luckily, with many people’s help, he later joined the army and lived like a normal person.
But not all children raised by animals can adapt to human society. In 1848, a British soldier found a little boy living with many wolves in India. He took him to a village, taking care of him and trying to teach him to speak. But nothing worked. The boy still behaved like a wolf, eating raw(生的)meat and wouldn’t wear clothes, no matter how cold the weather was. About two years later, he got seriously ill and died.
So we can believe that some animals can raise humans. However, people need to know that some children raised by animals may have a lot of difficulties living a normal person’s life when they enter human society.
