As the old saying goes,he who doesn’t reach the Great Wall isn’t a true man.The Great Wall is regarded as a symbol of the Chinese nation. It has attracted lots of tourists from all over the world every year. US President Barack Obama visited the Badaling section of the Great Wall in Beijing on Nov. 18th, 2009. The Great Wall was the second sightseeing program for Obama during his first visit to China.

The Great Wall today has become one of themust-seeplaces for visiting foreign leaders to the country in the past sixty years. “ I’m inspired(鼓舞)by the majesty of the Great Wall and gratefu1 for the warmth of the Chinese people,” Obama said after his half-hour tour.

“It's magical,” Obama said when walking along the Great Wall, “it reminds you of the sweep of history and our time here on earth is not that long. We better make the best of it.”

“I brought back the admiration(钦佩) for the Chinese civilization(文明), I bring here the greetings of American people.” Obama said when climbing a watchtower to enjoy a distant view at the Badaling section of the Great Wall.

Obama is the fifth US president to visit the Great Wall. Richard Nixon visited the Great Wall in 1972, Ronald Reagan in 1984 and Bill Clinton in 1998,In 2002, former US President George W. Bush and his wife Laura toured the same sections Obama did.

Someday in the future we may not need to have money in our pockets. Is life easier when people don’t need to carry any money at all? Is money heavy to carry? Is it safe to carry money? Maybe in the future each of us will have only one small credit card(信用卡). We will use it instead of money to buy all the things.

Of course we may still have some of the same problems with cards we now have with money. For example, we lose money from time to time. Maybe we will lose the cards. Maybe someone will take the cards. Someone may even make a card that looks like our cards. Since we can’t buy anything without our cards, the credit cards may be no better than money.

Is there something easier to use than credit cards? Each of us has a thumbprint(拇指指纹). No two thumbprints are the same. Maybe someday the government will keep people’s thumbprints with a number. When you want to buy something, you will put your thumb on a machine or a computer. Each store or business will posses one. Everyone’s thumbprints will be in the computer. It will be difficult to lose our thumbprints! It will be difficult for someone to steal it or to make one like it.

Vanuatu’s islands offer visitors two of the most exciting and dangerous activities in the world: volcano(火山)surfing and land diving.
              Volcano Surfing
OnTanna Island, Mount Yasur rises300 metersinto the sky. Yasur is an active volcano, and it erupts(爆发)almost every day, sometimes several times a day. For centuries, people have climbed this mountain to visit the top. Recently, people have also started climbing Yasur to surf the volcano. In some ways, volcano surfing is like surfing in the sea, but in other ways it’s very different. Volcano surfers try to escape the erupting volcano—without getting hit by flying rocks! It’s fast, fun and dangerous—the perfect extreme sport(极限运动).
              Land Diving
Most people are familiar with bungee jumping, but do you know bungee jumping started onPentecost Islandin Vanuatu and is almost fifteen centuries old? The activity, first called land diving, is part of a religious ceremony(宗教仪式). A man ties tree vines(树藤)to his legs. He then jumps head-first from a high tower to touch the earth with the top of his head—without breaking the vine. Every spring, island natives (men only) still take  part in this amazing activity.

China is a great country with the largest population in the world. In order to solve the population problem, our government carried out one-child policy(独生子女政策)before. When it is carried out for some time, many people not only see its advantages but also disadvantages.

From 2016, two-child policy is put into effect. In my opinion, two-child policy is good. First of all, two-child policy is the gift for some only child. For some families, maybe the parents are only child and they also can have only child. Besides the loneliness of their child, when their child grows up and they grow older, their child marry an only child girl, the burden(负担)on their child and his wife is too heavy. Their child and his wife have to take care of two couples. Usually, a young couple looking after an old couple is a little difficult. But if their parents have two children, they can share the burden(负担) of taking care of their parents. It would be much better. Secondly, two-child policy can guarantee(保证) the number of Chinese population.

All in all, one-child policy has been out of date. And two-child policy is needed and necessary. It can solve the problems of nowadays(现在)and the future.

Every year there is a Spring Festival in China. Usually it is in January or February. It is the most important festival in China. So before it comes, everyone has to prepare things. They buy pork, beef, chicken, fruits and many other things. And they often make a special kind of food—“dumplings”. It means “come together”. On the day before the festival, parents buy new clothes for their children. Children also buy presents for their parents. On the Spring Festival Eve(除夕),all the family members come back to their hometown. This is a happy moment. Some sing and dance, some play cards and others get the dinner ready. When they enjoy the meal, they give each other the best wishes for the coming year. They all have a good time.

Are you sorry for not traveling during the National Day? If you stay at home at that time, I think you are very lucky. Why? Because there are too many people everywhere. In many places of interest in China, it's too crowded to do anything.
Look at the picture. It was too crowded on the Great Wall on October 1st, 2013.
You even couldn't take photos for you or your friends. All what we could see were people. It was said that there were about twenty people per meter on the Great Wall.My friends told me they could see nothing but many people on the Great Wall.“We couldn't walk if the people in front of us didn't walk,” he said.He showed us a photo on the Great Wall.In the photo, we hardly found him out, there were too many people.
So some people give the advice that we should not have the gold week (黄金周) any more. But other people say no about this advice. What's your idea of it? Are you sorry now for not traveling during the gold week? I love staying at home more than traveling next National Day.

By twenty-fifty,the world will have to produce at least sixty percent more food to feed more and more people.China,a major food importer (进口商),is looking to producers around the world to make sure it can get enough food in the future.
The serious drought in the United States is adding to care about world food and prices.China has invested (投资) in food production in Australia and New Zealand.A new source (来源) of food is Ukraine.Ukraine was known as the breadbasket of Europe because of rich corn and wheat harvests a century ago.
Galyna Kovtok is chief manager of Ukraine's largest agricultural business,ULF.She says that within a few months her company will export corn to China. That will make Ukraine the first country outside the Americas to do so.Across the Black Sea area-in Ukraine,Russia and Kazakhstan-drought this year is pushing harvests down by fifteen to twenty percent.
Traditionally, the Black Sea area is the main source of wheat for North Africa and the Middle East. But this year,Russia may have to suspend exports. However,Africa and the Middle East are now having competition with China.
