Nobody likes to do chores, especially kids. How can you make your kids get into a good habit of doing their chores? Try making chores fun for them.

   Play some music:Music makes everything seem like a party, doesn’t it? Play your kids’ favorite music and let them dance around while they are doing their chores.

   Make it a treasure hunt:It’s a good way when you would like them to clean the house. Let them know that you hide a $ 5 bill someplace. If they find it, they can keep it.

   Change often:If your kids keep doing the same chores for months, they may feel bored. Teaching them a new task is fun for both you and the kids. They will feel more grown-up when they get a new task.

   Do it together:It’s never fun to be the only one working and watching everyone else relaxing. If everyone takes part in doing chores, you will finish them faster and have more fun.

A good way to pass an exam is to work hard every day in the year. You may fail in the exam if you are lazy for most of the year and then work hard only a few days before the exam. If you are taking an English exam, don’t learn only rules of grammar.

Try to read stories in English and speak in English as much as possible. A few days before an exam you should start going to bed early. Do not stay up late at night studying and learning things. Now satellites are helping to forecast（预报）the weather. They are in space, and they can reach any part of the world. The satellites take pictures of the atmosphere（大气）, because this is where the weather forms（形成）. They send these pictures to the weather stations. So meteorologists（气象学家）can see the weather of any part of the world. From the pictures, the scientists can often say how the weather will change.

 Today, nearly five hundred weather stations in sixty countries receive satellite pictures. When they receive new pictures, the meteorologists compare（比较）them with earlier ones. Perhaps they may find that the clouds have changed during the last few hours. This may mean that the weather on the ground may soon change, too. In their next weather forecast, the meteorologists can say this.

 So the weather satellites are a great help to the meteorologists. Before satellites were invented, the scientists could forecast the weather for about 24 or 48 hours. Now they can make good forecasts for three or five days. Soon, perhaps, they may be able to forecast the weather for a week or more ahead（提前）.

If music makes you smarter and exercise helps you to think, surely exercising to music can turn you into an intelligent person.

A team of scientists from Ohio State University did tests on 33 volunteers who were getting better from heart disease following operation(手术). They found that people who exercised while listening to Italian musician Antonio Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons” did much better on language ability tests than without music. “Facts suggest that exercise improve the learning ability of people with heart disease,” said the scientist Charles Emery, who led the study. “And listening to music is thought toenhanceunderstanding. We wanted to put the two results together.” he added.

The volunteers said they felt better emotionally(情绪的) and physically after exercising with or without the music. But their improvement on the test doubled after listening to music during exercise. Scientists have shown it is true that music can be good for health, education and well-being. It helps cut down stress, sadness and nervousness; makes relaxation or sleep more likely happen; wakes up the body and improves memory and thoughts. In medical fields, music is used widely for patients who have had head hurts before and after operation. “Exercise seems to cause positive changes in the nervous system and these changes may have a direct result on learning ability,” Emery said.

Scientists have been studying the result of music on understanding since the early 1950s. By 1990, scientists were using Mozart’s music, especially his violin pieces, to help children with speech disorders(混乱). Mozart was chosen because his music is not overexciting(过于激动) and has clear structures(结构). A study showed students who listened to Mozart went to score higher marks in an intelligence test. With important exams drawing near, your parents will not probably allow you to listen to music. But perhaps now you have good reasons to argue with them.

   Golden says there will be fewer cars in cities in the future. "Cars needs a lot of room," Golden says. "We have to build lots of parking lots(停车场) for them, but having so many parking lots is not efficient. Much of the time, there are few cars in parking lots." Golden says cities will make new rules to limit(限制) the number of cars in the future.

   "Buses have the same problem as parking lots," Golden says. Sometimes they are full, but sometimes there are few people in buses. Golden says in the future people can use phones to send messages when they want to take the bus. And buses can change their ways to pick them up.

   "Traffic is a big problem for cities today," Golden says. "But there are many things we can do to improve it. I believe that in thirty years we will live in a very different world."
