Everyone has a beautiful memory about school which is hard to forget. Among many things, relationships are the hardest to leave behind. Some schools try to stop students’ puppy love in different ways. Anything about “love” relationship is not allowed. For example, a middle school in Fu’an, Fujian province forbids(禁止) boys and girls to sit together for meals and forbids boys to look at girls for a long time. And a middle school in Luohe, Henan Province sets rules that boys and girls should meet in bright places with at least 5 other classmates, and if they meet in private they will be asked to go home with parents for more than a week and even advised to leave school. A middle school in Jinan, Shandong Province forbids everyone to send food and gifts to or receive them form the opposite sex( 异性). It also  forbids students to help the opposite sex with bags and coats and requires a “44 cm” distance between boys and girls.

Some students are not satisfied with such rules. “Why should we have strict places for different sexes to eat? It’s not using bathrooms!” Some people who care about the intelligence(智力)development of students say that they should be more creative with fewer rules. For this, I’d like to say that middle school students are going through puberty(青春期). It’s normal for them to have some feelings for the opposite sex. Schools should provide correct guidance(指导) and education instead of giving simple and cruel and asking students to follow.

You can see kangaroos everywhere in Australia. They appear on TV, in books and, in the shops. The government even plans to put them on passports.[103]Although it's the best loved animal in Australia, millions of kangaroos are killed every year. Why, people ask, do the Australians kill them? Quite simple, there are too many of them.

The number of kangaroos in Australia is believed to be 20—25 million. It is larger than the number of people living in the country.

There are several reasons for the growth in the number of kangaroos. There is plenty of water in the places where kangaroos live and many of the dingoes (澳洲野狗) that like to kill and eat kangaroos are not there anymore.

Kangaroos also produce (产生) the young all the year round. When a female (雌的) kangaroo gives birth , she then gets pregnant (怀孕) again immediately. The large number of kangaroos means some kangaroos don't get food to eat. They are so hungry that they break into farms and fight against other animals for food.

[104]To solve the problem, the Australian government allows a certain number of kangaroos to be killed each year

Many people don't think that it's right to kill kangaroos but the government thinks that it is only to help the farmers.Australia sells 5 million kilos of kangaroo meat every year—it is used to make hamburgers for dogs.

              (1) What is the result of too many kangaroos?
              (2) Why are there too many kangaroos? (one reason is enough)

This summer, the most popular touristy sight in China is Tibet. Why? Because the Qinghai-Tibet  Railway was open on July 1.

The Qinghai-Tibet Railway is the first railway between Tibet and other parts of China. It is 1,142 kilometers long and is the world’s highest railroad.

About 960 kilometers of it is over 4,000 meters above the sea level. Many people thought it was  impossible to build a railway so high. (93)But the railroad was successfully completed last October.

The railway makes travel cheaper for Tibetans. Most of them don’t have enough money to travel  by air. It will also bring more tourists to Tibet. A recent Xinhua report said that the new railway will bring 3,000 to 4,000 tourists to Lhasa each day. In Shanghai, one travel agency has worked out a 10-day-trip from Shanghai to Lhasa at a price of 3,600 Yuan.

A railway trip to Tibet is more comfortable than driving or flying. Each train has special windows  to keep out ultraviolet rays(紫外线) and sandstorms. (94)Thin air makes you feel sick. To stop this  from happening, the train gives oxygen through its air-conditioning system. If you feel sick, you  can find oxygen masks near the seats.
