At 9:00 am on October 15,2003,our country launched (发射) its first spaceship, Shenzhou Ⅴ,into space at Jiuquan Satellite Launch Centre. It took Yang Liwei and his spaceship about 21 hours   (1)   the earth 14 times. Yang Liwei is China’s first astronaut. He  (2)   Liaoning Province and   (3)  an air force pilot (飞行员) since 1983.He was chosen  (4)   14 pilots after many difficult tests.

The life of an astronaut is hard to imagine for many people.   (5)  on a spacesuit takes him 15 minutes with the help of others.Sleeping in space is not easy,   (6)   .He  (7)  sleep in a special sleeping bag on the wall because there is no gravity (重力).Yang can eat chicken and rice.It’s specially made   (8)  in space but tastes just like the real thing.

“I‘m feeling very good in space, and it looks wonderful here,”said Yang.“I have looked at our beautiful earth and recorded  (9)   I have seen there.”

China has became the third country in the world to send a person into space.We are all   (10)  our mother-land.

A few years ago, the company I work for sent my wife and me to live in New York for a year. I've always loved running, so I was really   (1)  when I found out the apartment they had rented for us was next to Central Park. This   (2)   that every morning I could go for a run before I went to work.

 Because a lot of people had told me to be   (3)   of thieves(窃贼) in the park, so usually I didn’t take anything with me. What could they   (4)   from me if I didn’t have anything? But one morning, my wife gave me a $10 bill and asked me to buy some   (5)  on the way.  So I took a $10 note out of my wallet.

While I was running through the park, another jogger   (6)  into me. He said sorry to me and  continued running. I thought it was a bit   (7)   so I checked my pocket and found that the money was missing, I started to run after him right away. I   (8)   caught him by his arm. I started shouting and told him to give me the $10. I am not usually a hot-headed person,    (9)   I got really angry this time. This seemed to frighten him, and he  quickly put his hand in his pocket and gave me the money. Then he ran away as fast as he could.      

 I bought the bread and went home. As soon as I got home, I began to tell my wife my story. “You won’t believe what happened to me,” I   (10)  . She stopped me, “I know, you  left the money for the bread on the kitchen table.”

  I still remember that day. I was waiting to get some money for shopping in a bank.  (1)  the crowd, I noticed a little boy carrying some sunglasses in one hand and a big bag in the other.

    The boy was about l0 years old. He was walking around the people inside the bank and asked them to buy his sunglasses. But  (2)  would buy any from him. He tried from one person to another. From the look on his face, I knew he would not ))  (3)   anyway.

    Now, I decided to have a talk with him. I went up and asked, "Do you go to school?" He nodded his head. Then I continued, "Why do you sell sunglasses?" He said nothing. I gave him $20 and said that I was not in  (4)  of the sunglasses but he could keep the money. To my  (5)   , his face changed a lot, which is still in my memory" today.

    I didn't know  (6)   to say next. Then he replied, " Either you buy sunglasses or you  (7)  back the money. I don't need your pity. " I felt very   (8)   for what I did, and I told him that I would buy two pairs.

    I took these sunglasses home and kept asking myself, "Did such a young boy need to do it for his self-respect(自尊)?" He could ____  (9)   take the $20 and left. But he chose to sell his sunglasses and get the money not because of others'   (10)  . I will remember this lesson forever.

Blake threw the toy across the room. It broke into pieces. “Blake!” his mom shouted. ”  (1)   did you do that?” She took him to the corner of the room and made him face the wall. “You have to stay here for fifteen minutes and think about what you did. The broken pieces can   (2)  someone.”

When fifteen minutes had passed, he turned around and said sorry to his mom, and then he was  (3)   to go out to play. His mom walked over to the corner where Blake had faced and   (4)   her hands on the wall. “A frog,” she said in surprise. She smiled and   (5)   to do something surprising.

“No, I don’t want salad.”

When Blake got to the corner, he started to smile. “Frogs!” He looked at the wall. When it was time for his coming back, he still stayed at the corner.

“Why hasn’t Blake come back to eat his supper?” Dad wondered.

Many people likeanimals. So theykeep(饲养)  (1)   as pets. Mr. Li is an old man.He is apetdoctor (医生). He is friendlyto all people and their pets. Peopleinthe neighborhood love  (8)   very much.People usually call him “The Pet Doctor”. Whenpeople’spets are sick(生病的),they oftenask Mr. Li for   (9)  . Mr. Li can always help the sickpets get well soon. So he is   (10)   popularin the neighborhood.

Nobody can be happy all the time. You may become unhappy sometimes,  (1)  ,when you fail an exam. Or you may become sad when you lose one of your friends or relatives. It’s   (2)   to have these feelings. If you don’t know how to solve these problems, you may  (3)    something from Jeff.

   Jeff almost went mad when his   (4)  was killed in a car accident. He   (5)   play soccer or go to the movies with his friends. Instead, he just sat in his bedroom and didn’t talk to  (6)   ,even his parents. Jeff felt that the world was unfair .He was quite angry with the driver   (7)   his car hit his brother, even though it was an   (8)  . After a few months, Jeff began to understand it was useless to be angry. Now he still   (9)   his brother, but he doesn’t hate the driver any longer. He is beginning to talk to his parents and this makes them happy again. He doesn’t   (10)  in his room by himself any longer. Instead , he goes to the movies or plays sports with his friends and he is feeling better now.

Every has a place which he remembers most from his childhood(童年)，and so do I. One of the places I remember from my childhood is a       (1)    inthe country. It belonged to my parents. I spent my summers in that place   (2)   I was a teenager(青少年)， and now I begin to miss the farm again.

  It was lovely to   (3)   there. There were a lot of   (4)  ----cows, sheep, hens, and naturally dogs and cats. My sister and I   (5)   helped to work on the farm. We helped the people graze(放牧) sheep or make bread or cheese. I can still remember that on Tuesdays we  (6)  the bread and on Thursdays, the cheese.

 I love that farm because I  (7)  to love animals and not to be afraid of them there. We saw a sheep give birth to its baby there, and we enjoyed staying there to see how lovely the   (8)   sheep was.

    Now my sister and her son are  (9)  this place. My nephew(侄子) is    (10)  with the place. I hope that he has a good time there and when he is older, he will remember the place as I do.
