As the old saying goes,he who doesn’t reach the Great Wall isn’t a true man.The Great Wall is regarded as a symbol of the Chinese nation. It has attracted lots of tourists from all over the world every year. US President Barack Obama visited the Badaling section of the Great Wall in Beijing on Nov. 18th, 2009. The Great Wall was the second sightseeing program for Obama during his first visit to China.

The Great Wall today has become one of themust-seeplaces for visiting foreign leaders to the country in the past sixty years. “ I’m inspired(鼓舞)by the majesty of the Great Wall and gratefu1 for the warmth of the Chinese people,” Obama said after his half-hour tour.

“It's magical,” Obama said when walking along the Great Wall, “it reminds you of the sweep of history and our time here on earth is not that long. We better make the best of it.”

“I brought back the admiration(钦佩) for the Chinese civilization(文明), I bring here the greetings of American people.” Obama said when climbing a watchtower to enjoy a distant view at the Badaling section of the Great Wall.

Obama is the fifth US president to visit the Great Wall. Richard Nixon visited the Great Wall in 1972, Ronald Reagan in 1984 and Bill Clinton in 1998,In 2002, former US President George W. Bush and his wife Laura toured the same sections Obama did.

Someday in the future we may not need to have money in our pockets. Is life easier when people don’t need to carry any money at all? Is money heavy to carry? Is it safe to carry money? Maybe in the future each of us will have only one small credit card(信用卡). We will use it instead of money to buy all the things.

Of course we may still have some of the same problems with cards we now have with money. For example, we lose money from time to time. Maybe we will lose the cards. Maybe someone will take the cards. Someone may even make a card that looks like our cards. Since we can’t buy anything without our cards, the credit cards may be no better than money.

Is there something easier to use than credit cards? Each of us has a thumbprint(拇指指纹). No two thumbprints are the same. Maybe someday the government will keep people’s thumbprints with a number. When you want to buy something, you will put your thumb on a machine or a computer. Each store or business will posses one. Everyone’s thumbprints will be in the computer. It will be difficult to lose our thumbprints! It will be difficult for someone to steal it or to make one like it.

Vanuatu’s islands offer visitors two of the most exciting and dangerous activities in the world: volcano(火山)surfing and land diving.
              Volcano Surfing
OnTanna Island, Mount Yasur rises300 metersinto the sky. Yasur is an active volcano, and it erupts(爆发)almost every day, sometimes several times a day. For centuries, people have climbed this mountain to visit the top. Recently, people have also started climbing Yasur to surf the volcano. In some ways, volcano surfing is like surfing in the sea, but in other ways it’s very different. Volcano surfers try to escape the erupting volcano—without getting hit by flying rocks! It’s fast, fun and dangerous—the perfect extreme sport(极限运动).
              Land Diving
Most people are familiar with bungee jumping, but do you know bungee jumping started onPentecost Islandin Vanuatu and is almost fifteen centuries old? The activity, first called land diving, is part of a religious ceremony(宗教仪式). A man ties tree vines(树藤)to his legs. He then jumps head-first from a high tower to touch the earth with the top of his head—without breaking the vine. Every spring, island natives (men only) still take  part in this amazing activity.

China is a great country with the largest population in the world. In order to solve the population problem, our government carried out one-child policy(独生子女政策)before. When it is carried out for some time, many people not only see its advantages but also disadvantages.

From 2016, two-child policy is put into effect. In my opinion, two-child policy is good. First of all, two-child policy is the gift for some only child. For some families, maybe the parents are only child and they also can have only child. Besides the loneliness of their child, when their child grows up and they grow older, their child marry an only child girl, the burden(负担)on their child and his wife is too heavy. Their child and his wife have to take care of two couples. Usually, a young couple looking after an old couple is a little difficult. But if their parents have two children, they can share the burden(负担) of taking care of their parents. It would be much better. Secondly, two-child policy can guarantee(保证) the number of Chinese population.

All in all, one-child policy has been out of date. And two-child policy is needed and necessary. It can solve the problems of nowadays(现在)and the future.

Some people have to use public transport, some dislike it and still some love it. If everyone has a car and drives anywhere they want to go, there will be serious traffic problems on the road. Luckily, trains are a good form of public transport.

British people use trains a lot. This is especially so for people who are travelling from London to Paris. Every day about 20 trains leave London. They travel at a very high speed and people feel glad that the trains take only 2 hours and 30 minutes to reach Paris. It's much faster to travel by train than by bus or by car. This is because people have to drive cars or buses very carefully and lowly for many reasons, such as speed limits and trafficjams. However, when you are travelling by train, the speed is almost the same and there is no traffic jam for a train.

Besides, Londoners think taking a train is one of the safest ways of travelling on the ground. Trains take quite a number of quality tests while they are made. More importantly, they have to take many safety checks before they are used on the rail track.

What's more, trains in Britain are comfortable and provide fine services for their users. When you are on a London train, you will find that the train has comfortable tables and seats where people can sit. They also provide food services and power plugs(电源插头) for personal computers or mobile phone.

"People are afraid to spend now," said Linda Morrow, who owns a shoe and handbag store."They don't know what the future will bring.

During the financial crisis, several of the country's biggest banks have been forced to sell or close. This has made lots of Americans afraid to buy expensive goods.

Samira Marino, a restaurant owner in Miami, has found everyone is ordering water instead of juice and more people are sharing meals. In more than two-dozen interviews with The Associated Press across the country last month,Americans talked about their concerns, from worries about small businesses to doubts about simply making ends meet.

The crisis began last year. Experts think it was because US banks lend money too easily. Last year a lot of people and companies, who borrowed money, have found themselves unable to pay it back. This left the banks, as well as the people who put their money in the banks, without money. Since the banks borrowed money between themselves and even across borders, the whole world was in trouble.

This month the US government agreed on a $700 billion plan to try to save the financial market. But no one is sure whether it will help or not. President George W. Bush has warned it will take some time.

Last week top finance officials from 20 countries promised to work together to find a way out of the money trouble.
