We are learning English, but how can we learn English well? A student can know a lot about English, but maybe he can not speak English.

As I never had a job before, I really wanted to start it. I got my job at the age of 22,When I arrived, I was a little nervous at first, but everybody was so friendly that I felt at ease (舒适的) soon.

My work at first was to help with auditing (审计) information on the computer. I was busy with lots of numbers all day. Being a friendly and great team of eight people to work with, the workers were always ready to help. That really made me know how to work effectively (有效率地) in my job.

Before my work, I did not know what auditing was, but now I do better in the job. I become more confident (自信的) with learning something new for future jobs. I can say that you may feel nervous about your first day at work, but you will soon be a part of the team. Now I work here for three years, and I enjoy my job very much. I thank all the workers for making me feel welcome and a part of the team.

I think people should have a work experience (经历) — it is an excellent way to get skills (技能) and make you feel more confident for future jobs.

People are different, but they all have the same needs.Needs are things people must have to live. Our bodies need food and water. We also need air to breathe. We need a place to live to keep us safe. We need clothes to keep us warm. If we did not have these things, we could not survive.

Needs may be different for people who live in different areas. If you live where it is cold, you may need special clothes to keep you warm. If you live where it is hot, you may need more water.

People have found new ways to meet their needs. Farmers grow food that people eat. They used to plant seeds by hand. They used to pick plants by hand. Now they have machines that do this work.

Sometimes, I wonder whether there was any love between my parents. They were busy trying to make money. They didn’t act romantically（浪漫地）. They weren’t like other couples in books and on TV. They never said, “I love you.” It was not their style.

  One day, my mother was sewing a quilt（被子）. I sat down beside her.

  “Mom, I have a question to ask you,” I said after a while.

“Is there love between you and Dad?” I asked her.

She didn’t answer right away.

I thought I had hurt her. At last I heard my mother say, “Susan, look at this thread（线）. Sometimes it appears, but most of it disappears in the quilt. It makes the quilt strong. If life is a quilt, then love should be a thread. Although we can’t always see it, it’s really there.

I listened carefully but I didn’t understand her until the next spring. My mother had to stay with him in the hospital for a month.

After they got back, she helped my father walk slowly down the country road every day. My father had never been so gentle.

 “Dad, how are you feeling now?” I asked him on day.”

“Susan, don’t worry about me,” he said. “I just like walking with your mum. I like this kind of life.”

Once, I thought love meant flowers, gifts and sweet kisses. Now, I know that love is the thread that holds a family together.

It's Saturday morning and Tony's sitting at the kitchen table, staring（凝视）into space and playing with a piece of bread. He's not even hungry. Is he ill? No, but he does have a problem. He has nothing to do and there's just one reason: the Internet is down and Tony has nothing to do.

Every weekend, he goes online to email friends. Then he reads the news to catch up on what's happening in the world. He plays a few online games and finishes the weekend off with an online chess game with his cousin Helen. The wonderful weekend-online! Now it's Saturday morning and he's not going to have access to（进入）the Internet for two whole days.
