Can plants eat people? Probably not, but there are many plants that eat meat. Some of them are big, and thay can eat small animals. One famous meat-eating plant is Venus Flytraps(捕蝇草).

  Venus Flytrap is a very strange plant. It grows in dry parts of the United States. Its leaves are like the pages of a book. They can open and close very quickly. Inside the leaves, there are three small hairs. If a fly touches one of the hairs, the leaf closes quickly so the fly cannot get out. In about half hour, the leafpress the fly until it is dead. Then, the plant covers the fly and slowly eats it.

   Why do plants do that? Most plants get what they need from the sun, the air and the ground. In some places, the ground is very poor. It doesn’t have all these important things, especially nitrogen(氮)。 Animal meat has a lot of nitrogen, so some plants eat meat to get what they need. Let’s hope that bigger plants don’t get the same idea!

Teeth are very important for our health. They will be our lifelong friends. So we should learn to protect them at a very young age. Here are some tips:

First, we should eat right.

* Don't eat too much candy or drink too much cola, or our teeth will go bad easily.

* Have more cheese, milk and yogurt to make teeth strong.

* Eat more vegetables and fruits to help clean teeth.

Second, we should keep these numbers in mind.

* 2/Day    Brash yore teeth at least twice a day: in the morning and before bedtime.

* 2-3Minutes Brush for at least two to three minutes every time.

* 3 Months Get a new toothbrush every three months.

* 6 Months Go to the dentist every six months for a check-up.

We spend hours, days and years of our lives in school. Imagine(想象) you could design(设计) your dream school, what would it be like? What would you be doing? We wanted to find out what teenagers around the world thought. Here is what they said:

Richard from the USA: My dream school would have a big swimming pool and two soccer fields. It would also have a cinema, a gym and a shopping centre. My school has none of these, and I think there should be more pleasant things for students to do while they are studying.

Sonia from Italy: I’d like a room where we can relax and play computer games. I’d also like to have a music room. I think there should be a place for everyone to go and relax after class.

Wu from Beijing: I think it would be great to have another day off (休息日) every week, besides the weekend. If that day was a Friday or a Monday, we would have a long weekend every week. What fun! I also think school should start later, at about 10 o’clock, and finish earlier.

Hannah from Australia: In my dream school, I think the teachers should give us more freedom(自由) and choice about how we study and what we study. I also think it’s not necessary for us to wear school uniforms every day. I really don’t like wearing it. 

     Nowadays there seem to be an app for everything. And mobile apps have been a part of our life.

 Our Mother-Daughter Kindness Circle in North Carolina gets together most months to create things. We give these things to other in the spirit of kindness. Some things are for strangers and others for others for our friends or family members.

   Last weekend we made flower pens. We took simple pens and attached (系上) a large silk flower to each pen. We made little note cards for each pen. We also wrote words about joy and kindness on them, such as “Let the beauty of what you love be what you do.”, “In such a soft and warm season, please accept my sincere greeting and deep love for you.” and other words on each pen.

   Many of the girls were making their pens for their school teachers. Each mother made one for her daughter, and each daughter made one for her mom.

   We had a wonderful time together sharing stories of kindness, and making something to special joy and kindness to people in our community.

In your life, there are a lot of people around you. They are your relatives, neighbors, friends or classmates. Sometimes you get along well with them, but sometimes don’t. What can you do when someone hurts you ? Most people may be angry or even fight with him. But it’s not a good idea. You’d better forget all this and forgive(宽恕，原谅)him.

   Maybe it’s not easy for you to do that, but it’s possible. Please remember: Keep a good mood, and you will keep healthy. Staying angry with others, in fact, means letting others' mistakes treat yourself unfairly．

   How can you forgive others?

   First，think of something pleasant and try to get yourself happy．

   Second, don't wait others to say sorry to you．If anyone hurts you，he won't say sorry to you．He may just want to hurt you or just don't see things the same way.

Third, try to see things in others' shoes．You can understand their minds better and make yourself a little happier．

   At last, tryto know yourself very well．Whose mistakes caused that，yours or others'? If it's our fault，try to say sorry to them．If it isn't，smile at the thing．

   The aim（目的）of students who come to school is to study. But to study requires (需要) a right way, or you waste either the time or the money. The followings are the ways of studying.

   The best time for reading is morning, because in the morning, the air is fresh and the mind is clear. For that reason, we can get good result

   In studying we must have patience. If we have not known a text well, we must read it again. We should not read the next one till we have understand the first one.

   When we are studying, we must put our hearts into the book, or we can get nothing from the book while we are reading.

   We must always ask "whys". If it is not well understood, write it down and ask our teachers , parents or friends. In any possible way, we must know it completely and what we’ve learned can be used well and made better.

“When I listened to the weather report, I was afraid to see the advertisements. T hose colorful advertisements always made me crazy. So I never watched weather report on TV.” said a young man.
