There is an old saying, “Laughter is the best medicine.”Now people are using laughter to __  (1)___   their health in countries all around the world. In some countries special centers for__  (2)___    illnesses with laughter were set up and became popular. In 2003, a study in Austria showed that laughing helped__  (3)___    get better faster. It made them relax, and this improved their general health.

Soon you may have a brother or a sister. You can play with him or her. You can talk about a lot of things with them and tell your secrets to them. You may even take care of each other. But there could be hard time, too. You may fight and pull each other’s hair. You may compete for your parents’ attention, food, the bathroom and even TV. So life with a brother or a sister will be unpredictable(不可预料的).

A birth order(顺序) can make a difference. The US psychologist(心理学家), Kevin Leman says birth order help develop children’s personalities(性格). According to Leman, parents are usually nervous and strict with their first child. They always set high goals for children. They want their eldest child to be perfect(完美).

But parents are much more relaxed about the late-born kids. So the younger children have fewer rules. They are often more creative. They also try to be funny, so they can get attention from their parents.

 Helping your children read and write at home will improve their skills and confidence ------ it will also make them get ready for learning in the classroom environment.

     Reading and writing skills are needed for every child in every year of their schoo life. As parents, you can play an important role in improving your children’s literacy by practicing reading, writing, spelling and speaking with them ou tside school.

    By listening, asking questions, giving information, and reading with your children outside school, you can make a difference. Students who improve their reading and writing skills will increase their vocabularies and their abilities to use English correctly.

    Here’s some advice on how to help your children to read, write and spell :

※reading aloud each night ※having everyday conversations with your children ※using dictionaries

※listening to your children’s reading reading your children’s writings      

※trying to ask more “wh” queationgs instead of easy “yes” or “no” questions

※encouraging your children to talk about funny things

※practicing filling in forms , writing letters, sending cards or emails

What can you do when someone hurts you? Most people may be angry or even fight with the one who hurts him or her. But it's not a good idea. The best way is to forgive (原谅) them.

Although it is not easy for us to forgive people who hurt us, it is possible. "Forgiveness makes you more hopeful. And it is good for our health," says Frederic, Ph. D, the writer of the book called Forgive for God.

But how can we forgive others?

First, think of something beautiful and try to get yourself happy.

Second, don't wait others to say sorry to you. If the people hurt you, he or she won't say sorry to you. They may just want to hurt you or they just don't see things the same way.

Third, try to see things in others' shoes. You can write a letter to yourself from the offender's point. That can make you understand others better and make yourself happier.

At last, don't forget to forgive yourself. For some people, forgiving themselves is the biggest challenge (挑战). And it also makes you more confident (自信的).

The world is not hungry , but it is thirsty . It seems strange that nearly 3/4 of the earth is covered with water while we say we are short of (短缺) water. Why? Because about 97% of water on the earth is sea water which we can't drink or use for watering plants directly (直接地) . Man can only drink and use the 3% - the water that comes from rivers and lakes. And we can't even use all of that, because some of it has been polluted (污染) .

Now more water is needed. The problem is: Can we avoid (避免) a serious water shortage later on? First, we should all learn how to save water. Secondly, we should find out the ways to reuse it . Scientists have always been making studies in the field. Today, in most large cities water is used only once and then runs to the sea or rivers . But it can be used again. Even if (即使) every large city reused its water, still there would not be enough. What could people turn to next?

The sea seems to have the best answer. There is a lot of water in the sea. All that needs to be done is to get the salt out of the sea water. This is expensive, but it's already used in many parts of the world. Scientists are trying to find a cheaper way of doing it. So you see, if we can find a way out, we'll be in no danger of drying up.
