We have heard of or known about many famous scientists like Stephen William Hawking ,who have been changing our world. Madame Curie(居里夫人)is surly one of the most famous among them.Madame Curie, the youngest of the five children, was born in Warsaw, Poland in 1867. Marie Curie's maiden name was Manya. Her parents were teachers, and she learned the importance of education at very early age. No higher education was offered to women in Poland at that time, so Manya took a job as a tutor. She sent part of her income to Paris to help pay for her older sister's medical studies. Her sister qualified as a doctor and married a fellow doctor in 1891. Manya went to joined them in Paris, changing her name to Marie. She entered the Sorbonne (now the University of Paris) and studied physics and mathematics, graduating at the top of her class. For the research she wanted to do, she was introduced to another young scientist, Pierre Curie. Later, they fell in love with each other. After their marriage, they worked together on radioactivity (放射学).
Fame troubled Marie and also her husband, because science and research were their world and in this word of science fame and honor to person had no value. One day, when a writer for a newspaper tried to ask Marie about herself and her thoughts and beliefs, she answered, "In science we must be interested in things, not in persons." Much of the real character and spirit of this unusual woman was found in these few words, which she was later often to repeat. One evening, at a big party, a friend asked if she would like to meet the King of Greece, who was also a guest. She answered in her simple manner, "I don't see the value of it ." Then, seeing that she hurt the feeling of her friend, she quickly added, "But…but…of course, I shall do whatever you please. Just as you please."

Mr Guo is a teacher from Xi'an. He asked his students to hand in their homework through a QR code (二维码). "We spent an hour or two in class learning how to generate (使产生) the codes, and in the end everything gets easier," said Guo. "When students finish the homework, they keep it on WeChat (微信). Then, each student makes his own QR code and gives it to me. So I can check their work everywhere using my computer or telephone."
The QR codes canbe sent to Mr Guo by email, QQ and WeChat. When Guo scans (扫描) his students' QR codes, their homework appears on his phone. He finds that their homework becomes more creative (创新的), with many pictures, music and even videos.
Guo's students like the new way and think it is interesting. "We are living in the information age. Many students like to work with computers, which makes learning more fun." said Tingting, a student of Guo's.
"The paper is not easy to keep, but the code is easy to keep and share." Guo said. "48 It is worth trying to use new technology in education. Education itself is a kind of creation. I don't want my students to fall behind the times."
However , some parents are worried. They are afraid that their children will spend too much time on computers and less time communicating with teachers. But in fact, it's unnecessary. Students still need to look up information in books and write it down when they do their homework. They only use the code when they hand in their work, which doesn't take them too much time. Also for teachers, it allows them to check the students' work at any time. And it's also an easy way to share homework with other students.

His doctor tried to help him, but there was no cure for rabies at that time. The doctor told Joseph's parents that perhaps there was one man who could save Joseph's life. His name was Louis Pasteur.
When Pasteur was young, he was especially interested in medicine, so he spent many hours every day with the chemist (药剂师)who lived in his small town. At that time, the chemist had to make all the medicines himself. Young Louis enjoyed watching the chemist as he worked and helped those people who came to him each day. Pasteur decided that one day he would help people, too.
As a school boy, Pasteur worked slowly and carefully. At first, his teachers thought that young Louis might be a slow learner. Through elementary school, high school, and college, Pasteur worked the same way. In fact, he was not a slow learner, but a very intelligent young man. He became a college professor and scientist, and he continued to work very carefully.
Because of Pasteur's patience, he was able to make many observations and germs (细菌). Pasteur was studying about the germs that cause rabies when Joseph Meister became ill. In fact, Pasteur believed that he had a medical treatment for rabies, but he never gave it to a person before. At first, Pasteur was afraid to treat Joseph, but the doctor said the child was dying. Pasteur gave Joseph an inoculation (预防接种)every day for ten days. Slowly, the child became better.
During his lifetime, Pasteur studied germs and learned how they cause diseases in animals and people and also studied the way to prevent diseases. On September 28, 1895,Louis Pasteur passed away. The work of this great man has been of great help to modern medicine.
