Have you ever heard of e-waste(电子垃圾), which can be produced every day? How do you deal with your computers, MP4 players and mobile phones when they’re broken or you want a new one?

Most people just throw them away. With the development of electronic industry(电子产业), e-waste pollution has become a serious problem. According to the United Nations, in2014, people around the world produced 41.8million tons(吨) of e-waste and only recycled 6.5 millions tons. The US the biggest waster, producing 7.1 million tons. China came second, with 6 million tons.

It’s important to pay attention to e-waste. It can either be valuable or harmful, depending on how we deal with it. E-waste is a valuable urban mine(城市矿藏). The value of the metals, like gold and silver in the waste around the world, is surprising. And the metals can be reused. But if people throw them away, the toxic chemicals(有毒化学物质)can get into the earth or air, affecting  the environment and people’s health.

Apple, for example, now recycle people’s used products in China when they are buying new ones. The company will test and repair the used ones and sell them at lower prices.                 Summer is very hot and kids need to drink enough water. However, many kids don’t, according to a new study published in the American Journal of Public Health.

The study’s lead author, Erica Kenny, a scientist at Harvard’s T.H. Chan School of Public Health, found that many kids were simply not drinking enough water.

Kenney and her team examined data from a group of 4,000 children, aged from 6 to 19. While looking through the survey results, she noticed that more than half of the kids who took part in the study were dehydrated. Of that group, boys were 76% more likely than girls not to have enough water in their systems.

               How much is enough?

70% of the human body is made up of water. Not drinking enough water can lead to health problems such as headaches, poor physical performance (体质), and even more serious problems. Your body needs more water when you are in hot climates, when you are physically active or when you have a fever.

The United States National Agriculture Library says kids need between 10 and 14 cups of water every day. The water can come from a mix of drinks or foods that have high amounts of water, such as melons or tomatoes. Tips for making sure you drink enough water.

◆Carry a water bottle with you.

◆Freeze some water bottles. Take one with you for ice-cold water all day long.

◆Choose water instead of juice when eating out. This tipcanalso help with weight management.

◆Add a slice of lemon to your water. This may improve the taste, and you might just drink more water than you usually do.

This is true. The body must have enough sleep to be healthy. Children of young age should have ten hours’ sleep every night. Children who don’t have enough sleep can’t do their work well and they may not be healthy.
