A fire happened in the Crown KTV in Xinxiang, Henan Province. Fire officials said the big fire began on the early morning of Dec. 15th 2014. And it was put out after an hour. The accident made 11 people lose their lives, and 24 persons were seriously injured.

We are so sorry to hear that, but we should think about how to prevent fire. I think we shouldnˈt play with fire, and should be careful to use the electrical appliances. Prepare a fire extinguisher and read the instructions to learn how to use it. Please check the fire escape and make sure that you can find it in the dark and it is unblocked.

If you unluckily meet the fire, knowing what to do can save your life. Here is some advice:

                 * Firstly, escape as quickly as possible. You have to stay low to the floor and cover your mouth with a wet towel or a wet cloth to avoid getting into the smoke.

                 * Secondly, you can use stairways, roofs and fire escapes, but no lifts. From the lower floors of buildings, to escape through windows is possible. It is safer to jump a short way than to stay in a burning building.

                 * Thirdly, if you canˈt run away by yourself, donˈt jump off the high building. Keep your head low next to the window to be sure you get fresh air while you are waiting for help.

In short if we pay attention to fire safety and use the right way to escape during the fire. I believe we can avoid the fire and protect our lives, and donˈt let the same thing happen again.

Body language is a kind of way of communciation. When you use body language to communicate, you don’t speak. Your thoughts, intentions(意图) or feelings are expressed by physical behaviors, such as facial expressions, body posture(姿势), gestures and eye movements.

Body language can make yourself understood more easily by others. Waving one’s hand is to say “Goodbye.” A smile and handshake show welcome, and clapping hands means congratulations. Nodding the head means agreement, but shaking the head means disagreement. These gestures are widely accepted both by Chinese and foreigners. Of course, different countries have different body languages. Men in Russia, France and Arab countries kiss each other when they meet, but men in China or Australia shake hands instead of kissing. People in Arab countries like standing close to one another when they are talking, but English people must keep a distance away when they are talking.

When you use a foreign language , it is very important to know the meanings of gestures and movements in the country. Using the body language correctly will help you to make your stay there much more pleasant and comfortable.

Perhaps you have been told about some habits which stop a person reading fast and have been strongly asked to break those habits which you might have.

Do you still have any of these bad habits? Check yourself by answering "yes" or "no" to the questions:

(1). Do you move your lips (嘴唇) when reading silently?

(2).Do you point to words with your finger (手指) as you read?

(3).Do you move your head from side to side as you read?

(4).Do you read one word at a time?

If you answer "yes" to any of these questions, start at once to break the habit.

If you move your lips, hold your fingers over them, or hold a piece of paper between your lips while you are reading. Then if your lips move, you will know it and can stop them.

If you point to words, hold the two sides of your book, one side with your left hand, the other side with your right hand. Then you will not have a free finger to use in pointing while reading.

If you move your head, place your chin(下巴)in one hand, and hold your head still (静止地).

If you read no more than one or two or three words at a time, you need to work very hard in learning to take in more words at each glance (看一眼) as your eyes travel across the lines of words.

A habit is any action that we have performed so often that it becomes something we do almost without thinking. Some of them are thought to be bad habits. People spend countless hours and dollars each year trying to drop these bad habits but often fail. Why? Change is hard work and there is no shortcut to achieve it. However, there is still some advice for you to follow.

First, look at why you do it. In other words, what’s the result of doing this thing? If your bad habit is shouting at people when you are unhappy or under pressure, what do you get from it? It may make you feel a little better for the moment. Or maybe you have a bad habit of leaving your homework undone. The result could be that you get more time to spend on the Internet!

Next, take a look on the other hand. What are you losing because of your habit? Shouting at other people is a bad habit because it makes people around you feel bad and unhappy. Leaving your homework undone is a bad habit because you may be punished by your teacher. Having more Internet time means that you are losing the chance to learn the things that you need to learn. When you think that way, you’ll find that it’s not wise to keep your bad habit! Now it is time to make a decision. What will you choose? I’m sure you will choose to do what you think is more important.

The best way of learning a language is by using it. The best way of learning English is talking in English as much as possible. Sometimes you will get your words mixed up and people will not understand you. Sometimes people will say things too quickly and you can’t understand them. But if you keep your sense of humor, you can always have a good laugh at the mistakes. Don’t be unhappy

if people seem to be laughing at your mistakes. It is much better for people to be laughing at your mistakes than to be angry because they don’t understand what you are saying. The most important rule for learning English is, “Don’t be afraid of making mistakes. Everyone makes mistakes.”

Switzerland is one of the most developed countries in Europe. It is famous as one of the cleanest countries in the world.

The Swiss think that recycling is very important. The government has made laws which require everyone to recycle. In 1998,the Swiss government passed a law which says that people can not throw away any electronic machines. Instead, people are told to bring old ones, such as televisions, computers and fridges,to special centers when they didn't need them. Many parts of the old machines are reused, and only the parts that can't be used are thrown away. The government alsochargesa rubbish bag tax(税收).If people want their rubbish to be collected, they must buy yellow stickers(张贴物) and put them on their rubbish bags. In 2003,47% of all rubbish in the cities was recycled. This included 70% of paper,95%of glass,71%of plastic bottles and 85—90%of cans. Until recently, people could get a small amount of money when they recycled their bottles. Recycling has become a daily habit for the Swiss.

Everyone should learn from the Swiss, and our country will be clean like Switzerland.
