Lin Wei,one of the panda keepers, says,”They‟re so cute and lovely. I take care of them like they‟re my own babies. I wash, feed and play with them every day.

They‟re very special to me.”In fact ,many people around the world love these black and white animals. 熊猫变得如此受欢迎,现在它们是中国的象征。.
Pandas do not have many babies, maybe only one every two years. The babies often die from illnesses and do not live very long. Adult pandas spend more than 1)2 hours a day eating about 10 kilos of bamboo. Many years ago, there were a lot more bamboo forests and pandas in China than there are now. But then humans started to cut down the forests, and there was less bamboo for the pandas. Scientists say there are now fewer than 2,000 pandas living in the remaining forests. Another 200 or so live in zoos or research centers in China and other countries.
An education program in Chengdu teaches children in cities about pandas and other endangered animals. They send people to schools to tell children about the importance of saving these animals. The Chinese government is trying hard to help save the pandas.Scientists are doing research to better understand the habits of pandas.  We all hope that in the future there will be a lot more pandas than now.

Life today is easier that it was hundreds of years ago,but it has brought some new problems,One of the biggest problems is pollution(污染).(A)We can see it ,drink it and even hear it.

Man has polluted the earth.(B)The more people, the more pollution. Many years ago,the problem was not so serious because there were not so many people. When the land was used up or the river was not clean in a place, man went to another place. Now man is slowly polluting the whole world.

Air pollution is still the most serious,it’s bad for living things in the world.

Many countries don’t let people burn(C)“有害物质”for air in houses and factories in the city.Pollution by SO2 is now the most dangerous kind of air pollution. It’s best to ride bikes. When you are riding, there is no pollution. But even in developed countries, most people don’t go to work by bike. It’s not because bikes are expensive or people are tired if they ride to work. It’s because the number of cars on the roads becomes larger. So more people put away their bikes and go to work by car, then things are getting worse and worse. We should have special roads only for bikes and make it so difficult and expensive for drivers(D)        (take)their cars into the city that they will go back to using their bikes.

It is very common for students’ marks to fall. Sometimes it is because of situations outside school such as problems at home. Sometimes it is only because the exams get harder.

When your marks start to fall, you should try talking to a friendly teacher. He or she will be able to help you with the subjects you feel difficult. Stop(62)把自己同其他的学生比较. It doesn’t matter if other students get higher marks than you. What is important is that you do your best. Before each exam, you should go through your notes from class. You should remember the most important things you have written in a shorter form.

Look through your notes again before the exam. You will be surprised when you find you remember so much. It may take hard work and you may not improve your marks straight. But let your confidence rise by every mark. Soon they should begin to climb again. Remember:(63)Nothing is possible if he or she doesn’t have confidence.Besides(64)this, right ways are also needed by you. Keep on working hard, sooner or later, you will be successful.

Charles’ father was a well-known doctor and the son of a still greater doctor and scientist. Charles’ father hoped that his son would also become a doctor.
As a boy Charles liked to go for walks in the fields and forests. He watched nature and compared what he saw with everything he had read in science books. He also liked collecting very much. He collected many things: eggs, stones, and leaves. His father did not like this, as Charles was not studying very well at school. ①为了成为一名医生,十六岁时达尔文就被送到爱丁堡大学(Edinburgh University)学习。But he was interested in the history of nature. Then he studied at Cambridge University until 1831.
Some time later, he heard that the ship Beagle was going on a trip to South America and wanted a scientist. His professor advised him to go. He said the trip would be just for Darwin. So when the ship left England in December 1831, Darwin was on it. The research lasted almost five years. The Beagle studied the waters in the sea near South America. It also visited New Zealand, Australia and islands in the Pacific. Darwin saw many new plants and animals. He collected all kinds of plants, which he sent home from the places he visited. When he returned home, Darwin was warmly greeted by his families and many friends. In 1842, Darwin went to live in Kent, where he continued his studies of the changes in nature. ②Darwin understood that plants and animals are not always the same, and that they really change.
By 1859, Darwin had finished his famous book The Origin of Species. It made a great hit in the world of science. ③He was opposed(反对)by the church and even by some scientists. But later, more and more scientists agreed with him. Darwin continued his studies in science until he died in 1882.

There was a tree in my garden. One day, two birds came to build a house there for their three newborn babies.

One day, I heard the sound of the little birds. ① I ran to the garden and found two babies eating food on the ground. I thought they dropped off their house, so I decided to help them get back to their house. At that time, the father bird and the mother bird came back. They had some food for the third baby. They put the food on the ground, far away from the bird baby. To get the food, the baby had to fly to it.

Then I heard the cry of the third baby. She was still in their house. She was afraid to get out of the house to get the food. But she was very hungry. To my surprise, the father bird and the mother bird just stood there and did nothing.

After about ten minutes, the third baby didn’t have any other choice. She slowly want to the border(边缘) of the house and began to fly. She flew off from the house. Finally, the third baby landed on the ground and found the food.

These birds taught me a lesson—There is lots of food. ②如果你想要你的食物,你将不得不学会飞翔。
