                  "For Satoko， reading in English was a fight， a fight that she lost， "wrote Waring， who suggested that reading casy texts is necessary because it helps language leamers build up confidence． By reading a lot rather than having a hard time with only one book， they can get usedto different kinds of expressions and writing styles． Only by doing this can they reach the "reading-with-ideas"level of reading．
