If you have a bottle of water recycled from urine (尿), would you drink it? Astronauts at the ISS may soon do so.

NASA (美国航空航天局) said it would use a high-tech machine to recycle waste water at the ISS. The machine will recycle water for washing hands, shower water, water for brushing teeth and even urine to make drinking water. It will save millions of dollars each year.

At present, each ISS astronaut uses about 4.4 liters (升) of water every day. It costs about 24 million dollars a year to send water up to the ISS. A liter of water costs about $ 11, 000.

The machine will be sent to the ISS later. NASA hopes it will recycle about 93% of all the water used on the station.

Will the water be clean? Different chemicals will be put in the wastewater. The water will be heated to 130℃to kill bacteria (细菌). Scientists say that the recycled water is thousands of times better than the water from a city tap.

              Zhang Shiyuan, 13, from Shanghai

I think robots will replace(代替) accountants(会计). Most accountants deal with numbers at big companies(公司). They must work very carefully. Even a small mistake can cause a big problem. Sometimes, people may get tired and make mistakes. But robots won’t. Using robots means there will be fewer problems.

              Luo Xiaoqi, 13, from Beijing

Someday, robots will replace shopping assistants(售货员). Robots use computers and they’re good at arithmetic(算术). The robots assistants calculate(计算) more accurately and more quickly than human assistants. The robot assistants have no feelings. Whatever the people buy, they will always behave(表现) well. The robot assistants can make shopping more enjoyable.

              Zhang Yifei, 14, from Guangzhou

I believe the robots are going to replace the workers in the manufacturing industry (制造业). Most workers in a factory do heavy work over and over again. Robots will work on it better and faster than people. I know some factories are already using robots, but I think they will replace humans in the future.

Happiness is for everyone ,Why? You don’t need to care about the rich .They have big houses but they may often feel lonely because they have few friends to talk with, They have cars but they want to walk on the country roads in their free time.

In fact ,Happiness is always around you. When you are in trouble , your friends will help you. When you study hard at your lessons ,your parents are always taking good care of your life and your health. All these are happiness.

When you are poor, you can also say you are very happy, because you have something else. Money can’t buy that. When you meet with problems, say loudly that you are happy , because you have more chances to challenge (挑战) yourself.

If you get a chance ,take it and you can be a happy and lucky man.

            • 4.

Everyone wants to be happy , but few people know how to find happiness, Money and success alone do not bring lasting happiness. I think we should make our happiness by ourselves, Here are some suggestions to help you be happier.

First, enjoy the simple things in life .Too often, we spend so much time thinking about the future –for example , making much money or getting a good job—that we can’t enjoy the present, You should enjoy life’s simple pleasure ,such as reading a good book ,listening to your favorite music ,or spending time with close friends.

Second, be active. When people go dancing or have sports , they can forget about their problems and only think about the activities.

Third, help others. People feel good when they spend their time helping others .If you want to feel happier ,do good things for someone .You cam help a person with his or her studies, buy food for the old and so on.

Sometimes people asked me strange questions. Whenever kids played games, I was the "monster". I was always imagining that everyone looked down on me.Yet Mum would say to me, "Hold your head up high and face the world." I began to depend on that saying.
As a child, I thought Mom meant, "Be careful or you will fall down or bump into something because you are not looking." As a teenager, I usually looked down to hide my shame . But I found that when I held my head up high, people liked me.
In high school I even became the class president, but on the inside I still felt like a monster. All I really wanted was to look like everyone else. When things got really bad, I would cry to my mum and she would look at me with loving eyes and say, "Hold your head up high and face the world. Let them see the beauty that is inside instead of your appearance ."
My mom's love was the sunshine that made me bright. I had faced hard times, and learned not only to be confident but also to have deep compassion (同情) for others.
"Hold your head up high" has been heard many times in my home.  I say it to my children. The gift my mum gave me will live on .

The Internet has become part of teenage(青少年) life. Thereˈs a report on 3, 375 students aged from 10 to 18 in seven Chinese cities. It says that 38 % of them believe they use the Internet often. While most of them get useful information and use the Internet to help in their studies, some are not using it in a good way. Many are playing online games too much. A few even visit Web sites they should not look at. Bad things can happen if young people spend too much time on the Internet.

In order to help young people use the Internet in a good way, a textbook on good Internet behavior has started to be used in some Shanghai middle schools this term. It uses real examples to teach students all about good ways of using the Internet.Itgives useful advice such as itˈs good to read news or find helpful information to study. Some students also make online friends. But if you are meeting a friend online, let your parents know.

Teachers and parents all think the book is a very good idea. It will teach students how to be a good person in the online world. It will be a guide for teens using the Internet and keep students away from bad sites.

The best way of learning a language is using it. The best way of learning English is talking in English as much as possible. Sometimes you’ll get your words mixed up(混淆) and people will not understand you. Sometimes people will say things too quickly and you can’t understand them. But if you keep your sense of humor(幽默感), you can always have a good laugh at your mistakes you make. Don’t be unhappy if people seem to be laughing at your mistakes. It’s better for people to laugh at your mistakes than to be angry with you, because they don’t understand what you are saying. The most important things for learning English is: “Don’t be afraid of making mistakes because everyone makes mistakes.”

One little miracle (奇迹) has been happening to me recently, and it gives me a special joy.

A few months ago, I was telling my daughter, Sally, some stories about my mother. My

daughter was so young when my mother died that she doesn’t remember her well. I told her all

I could remember, like how wonderful my mother was and how much she meant to me.

One day, Sally was sad because her grandmother was in heaven (天堂) and she couldn’t

see her. I explained that though her grandmother was dead,  now she was still watching over us

and could send us something to let us know she was there. She could be anywhere, even riding

invisibly (看不见地) on the back of a butterfly (蝴蝶). Just after I said this, a butterfly

flew down right by us, and we laughed happily.

Now many people would say it was just luck that the butterfly flew down at that time. A funny

thing, however, has happened since then. Every time I go out in any type of weather I see

butterflies. Very often they fly right by my face to get my attention. I always say hi to Mom,

send her my love, and thank God for little miracles.

Everyone is always looking for some big miracles to come out and save them when they are in

trouble, but they don’t notice the little miracles that happen every day right in front of their

eyes. I know what they really are, however. For me little miracles are the best kind. So many

little miracles happen around me all the time that I know they are not just luck.
