A recent report found 46% of parents agreed that their child knew more about the Internet than they did. And now new research shows parents are turning to their children for lessons in technology．

The new study of around 1，000parents showed that 67% of parents have asked their teenage children for technology-related advice.44% have asked their teenagers for help using the Internet, and 41% have received teen advice about how to use the TV or home entertainment system.

Robert, a father of five children, says his children help him with technology in the home．"Theyˈve grown up surrounded(被...包围) by technology，"he explains．"We have four computers and four iPads in our house．If I want to know something technical, theyˈre the ones I go to．"

He says his nine-year-old son Ben is the only person in the house who really understands the TV. So he tells Ben which film he wants to watch and Ben connects his mobile phone to the TV．"You teach your kids everyday life lessons, but the tables are turned when it comes to technology，"says Robert．

As well as learning how to use technology properly, there is another advantage of parents asking their children to help them understand the digital（数字的） world. They may be able to get a better understanding of what their kids are doing online．

Will Gardner of the charity Childnet International says，"We have to continuously encourage parents to find out more about what their children are doing online. If the kids are using a social networking site, get them to show you around it if youˈre not using it yet．"

All the teachers want to get along well with you and enjoy seeing you learn. But teachers and students sometimes have personality clashes, which take place between any two people.

By dealing with such a problem, you can learn something about how to get along with people who are different from you. 

  Even if a certain teacher isn’t your favorite, you can still have a successful relationship, especially if you perform your basic duties as a student. Here are some ways.

*Attend classes on time and always get ready to learn.

Another person who tries to realize her travel dream is photographer Rhiannon Taylor. She travels around the world to visit, review and take photos of the best hotels. She shares the places she stays and the food she eats on the Internet with tens of thousands of followers.

With these ways of making money, traveling around the world is no longer a dream. More and more young people are thinking creatively to make their dream come true.

 China Youth says that more and more girl students have entered colleges to study in the recent few years. As we know, once the number of boys was larger than that of girls and boys did much better than girls in our country for a long time. Now, things have changed a lot.

In recent years, theproportion  of girl students is growing fast. In 1998, about 39.7% of college students were girls. In 2000, it was 41.07% and in 2001, the number was 42.14%.

There are several reasons for this.

Firstly, there is little difference between boys and girls in their intelligence(智力). That’s to say, girls are as clever as boys. And boys have more interests than girls, so they may not always do well in their study.

Secondly, girls are more careful than boys. They work harder at school and they do better in all exams. Another reason is that with the development of society, people pay more and more attention to girls’ education.

  Maybe you havejust left messages too often without much valuable information．For example, the questions are those like“how are u？”“what are u doing？”“do u love me？”too often. You know, people may feel bored after answering such kinds of questions time after time．

  Another possible reason may be that you've sent something unpleasant to your friend or in your friend circle．I just blocked one of my middle school classmates yesterday because she was trying to sellfakegoods(商品) in the friend circle，and I hate it quite much．

Our new foreign students are going to arrive in our schoo l very soon. They will stay with us for two weeks. Here are some ways to communicate with them properly.

How close do you stand when you talk to a friend? You can stand close to people in the Middle East, but don't stand too close to North Americans! Give them more personal space.

Do you know how to touch(触碰)people? Chinese girls often walk arm in arm with their friends. South Americans sometimes hold your arm when they talk to you, so you can't move away! But in Britain many people don't like other people to touch them at all.

Do you look at people when you talk? In some places, it isn't polite(有礼貌的) to look at people when you talk, but in other countries it isn't polite to look somewhere else. InBritainand the US, people usually look at each other when they talk.

And how do you say goodbye? That's easy, wave to say goodbye. But be careful! In Greece, it's not at all polite!

Moms take care of their children life and dads bring home food and make the family rules. These are the roles moms and dads fall into when they become parents and it’s common among all cultures. But times change and parents’ roles seem to be changing, too. More women are bringing home food by having full-time jobs and men are taking care of their children at home.

　 Chinese TV show Where Are We Going, Dad ? provides a closer look at the changing roles of dads in modern family life. The show follows the adventures（冒险经历）of five celebrity（明星）dads who take trips with their young children (aged 4 to 6) and try to complete a set of tasks. 　 Psychologists（心理学家）say that a strong fatherly influence is important in a child’s development. Fathers teach their children skills and encourage them to try new things. They also give them a sense of safety. A child learns that if something goes wrong, he or she can depend on dad to help fix it. The psychologists also say that without a dad, a child is more possible to drop out of school and get into trouble.

　 A mother’s love is important, and so is a father’s love. Chen Mo, a psychology professor says,“It takes both parents to raise a child. Children have different needs at different ages and this needs to be considered by both parents.”

The world is getting smaller，at least when it comes to language. More and more people speak the three most common languages：English，Spanish，and Chinese. As a result，local languages are being forgotten. In many parts of the world，grandparents speak a language that their grandchildren do not understand. Because these local languages aren't taught to children or spoken at home，they are slowly disappearing．

     A language is said to be in trouble when less than 30 percent of local children speak it. It is considered a dying language. If children no longer learn to use a language，it will have fewer and fewer speakers over time and after a long time the language will be gone.

Why should we keep languages alive？Languages show how a culture understands or explains the world.“You need to look at different kinds of languages，because no one language gets it all，” said researcher Dr. Linda Cumberland who is working to save Assiniboine，a Native American language.

    According to Dr. Cumberland，a dying language needs a dictionary and people to understand and record its grammar. More importantly，you need to listen to those who still speak the language. This can be very difficult，especially if there are very few speakers of the language left. For example，when researchers were working to save the language Ayapaneco in Mexico，it was hard for them to record anything. Why？The last two people on Earth who could speak the language declined to speak to each other.
