When you are in the USA,you'll often hear some invitations.Americans often invite their friends for a meal,a party (such as dancing party, birthday party,New Year's party and so on )or just coffee. They can invite friends by phone calls, sometimes they send messages or e-mails.
If people want to invite others, they often say like this,"Would you like to come to my home for dinner this Saturday evening?""This Sunday we want to have a birthday party, can you come and enjoy it?"And people often say"Sure,I'd love to.Thank you"to accept the invitation,or"Sorry"and give a reason to turn it down. They must always reply to an invitation in apolite way.
Sometimes people will hear something, but not a real invitation. For example,"Please come for coffee next time.""Let's get together soon."They are not real invitations because they don't tell the real time. They just want to keep the friendship between them. When people hear them, they usually answer"Sure, that would be good."or"OK,thank you."

Where do you expect to see graffiti(涂鸦).Probably not in a
museum. Bristol Museum is in the south-west of England. It was the
kind of place you went to see classical works in tile past. But in the summer of 2009, the arrival of the "Banksy versus the Bristol
Museum" exhibition(展览)changed everything. The exhibition hosted more than 100works by Banksy, one of the world's most famous graffiti artists.
People don't know much about Banksy's life or his background. He hardly ever gives interviews and likes to be anonymous(匿名的). But many people believe that his real name is either Robert Banks or Robin Banks and that he was born in 1973near Bristol.
Banksy's "street art" includes paintings on live sheep and cows and graffiti on a huge wall between Israel and Palestine. Brad Pitt, a famous American actor spent over 2million dollars on a piece of Banksy's graffiti. Banksy designed an album cover for the famous British band, the Britpop group Blur in 2003. But he has refused at least four times to do advertisements for the famous company Nike. A year after the Bristol exhibition, Banksy made a film called Exit Through the Gift Shop. The film tells the story of a French street artist in America. Many people thought highly of the film. Nobody knows if it was about a real artist or an invented character from Banksy's imagination.
Bristol isn't the only place in Britain to welcome graffiti. The DPM Park in Dundee, Scotland has the longest legal(合法的)graffiti wall (almost 110metres long) in the UK. Anyone can paint on the wall any time they like. Mike Crilley, the graffiti wall project organiser, promotes(宣传)the good side of grafftti and runs workshops(工作坊)for local children.
Is everyone doing graffiti? Can we do graffiti where we want these days? Not exactly. It's illegal to paint on somebody else's property(财产)so make sure you find a legal grafftti wall like the one in Dundee if you want to have a go.

              (1) What can we learn about Bristol Museum from the first paragraph? ______
              A. It was built by Banksy.
              B. It is only used for graffiti exhibition.
              C. It began to exhibit graffiti works in 2009.
              D. It has the graffiti works of more than 100artists.
              (2) What can we learn about Banksy from the passage? ______
              A. He is a famous film director.
              B. He often gives interviews.
              C. He sells graffiti works for money.
              D. He cuts himself off from the public.
              (3) What can we learn about the film Exit Through the Gift Shop? ______

In Canada and the United States, people enjoy entertaining(请客)at home. They often invite friends over for a meal,a party,or just for a coffee and conversation.
Here are the kinds of things people say when they invite someone to their home:
"Would you like to come over for dinner Saturday night?"
"Hey,we're having a party on Friday. Can you come?"
To reply to an invitation, either say thank you and accept,or say you're sorry, and give an excuse:
"Thanks,I'd love to.What time would you like me to come?"or"Oh,sorry,I've tickets for a movie."
Sometimes, however, people use expressions that sound like invitations but which are not real invitations. For example:
"Please come over for a drink sometime."
"Why not get together for a party sometime?"
"Why don't you come over and see us sometime soon?"
They are really just polite ways of ending a conversation. They are not real invitations because they don't mention a specific(确定的)time or date. They just show that the person is trying to be friendly. To reply to expressions like these, people just say"Sure, that would be great!"or"OK,yes, thanks."
So next time when you hear what sounds like an invitation, listen carefully:Is it a real invitation or is the person just being friendly?
              (1) Why do Canadians and Americans often invite friends for meals at home? ______
              A. Because they can save time.
              B. Because they can spend less money.
              C. Because they enjoy entertaining at home.
              (2) Which of the following is a real invitation? ______
              A. "If you are free, let's go for a dinner sometime."
              B. "I've two tickets here. Can you go to the movie with me?"
              C. "Would you like to have a cup of tea with us sometime?"
              (3) If people say"Let's get together for lunch some day.",you just say" ______ "

              C. Oh,sorry.I'm very busy.
              (4) People use"an unreal invitation"in order to(为了)show that ______ .
              A. they're trying to be friendly
              B. they're trying to be helpful
              C. they're trying to make friends with others
              (5) The passage is mainly about ______ .
              A. entertainment at home
              B. real invitations or not

The Lantern Festival falls on the 15th of the first month of the lunar calendar. This day is always the first full moon in the new year.Ancient people also called it Shangyuan Festival.Celebrations and traditions on this day began from the Han Dynasty and became popular in the Tang Dynasty.
