In the world, soccer of football is the most popular sport. This is because many countries have wonderful teams for the World Cup. The World Cup is held every four years. To remember 2002 FIFA World Cup, children from different countries and more than 60 children from Japanese schools came together and spent three weekends drawing a big picture called“Dream(梦幻) World Cups”in Japan. The children drew animals, flowers and people playing soccer under a bule bright sky. They wished each football team good luck by drawing the flags(旗帜)of all the countries that will take part in the World Cup in Japan and South Korea. The picture was put up in a park near a playground in Yokohama. Some football teams will have games there.

Are you a football fan(迷)?The World Cup makeds more and more people interested in football. Teenagers(青少年)like playing and watching football. Many of them love some football stars so much that they get the pictures of their favourite players on the walls of their rooms. That is the way to show their love for the World Cup as children in Japan.

If you go to a fast food restaurant, you will probably see a lot of teenagers (青少年).Today, many teenagers are overweight because of their bad eating habits. Most teenagers love food with a lot of fat(脂肪), oil, salt, and sugar. People often call this kind of food" junk food".  But bad eating habits go beyond(远不止) fast food. We find many teenagers eat unhealthily. Some donˈt have breakfast before they go to school. During the day, some donˈt have a nice meal for lunch. In a survey at one school, scientists found that more than two-thirds(三分之二) of the students didnˈt follow a healthy diet (饮食). They didnˈt like vegetables, and many of them didnˈt like to eat fruits. They liked to eat food with a lot of salt, sugar, or fat. Parents today also worry about their childrenˈs diet. Some doctors give the following advice:

★Teenagers shouldnˈt eat too much junk food.

★Teenagers shouldnˈt eat food with too much salt.

★Teenagers should eat food with less fat, oil and sugar.

★Teenagers need to eat some fruits and vegetables every day. Fruits and vegetables are rich in vitamins(维生素) and have little fat.

★Teenagers need to eat breakfast every day. This is good for their body and mind.

★Teenagers need to drink more milk. Milk will help them grow.

            • 6. Values join us together and set us apart. Today, our society has a terrible lack(缺乏)of values. Here are some social values that everyone needs.
                ◆Respect
Respect means to respect others in everyday life. Even if you are against a person, it is important to have respect. It is this respect that makes us human. Without this respect, we become animals. We need to respect our friends for our friendships. We even need to respect our enemies, because they help us to grow up and be stronger. Respect is one of the crucial values in a relationship.
                ◆Love
Love is everything. With love in our hearts, we feel no need to hurt another. With love in our hearts, we will pay more attention to the similarities in opinions rather than the disagreement. If we want others to be good to us, we need to be good to them. After all, we give love to get love, right?
                ◆Loyalty
People often forget the meaning and importance of loyalty(忠诚). Loyalty is necessary for people to believe in each other. In no matter what kind of relationship, we need to believe in each other so that we can work together towards the same goal.
               ◆Honesty
Honesty is to show other people who we really are. Honesty helps us do better, because it makes us realize our problems and find ways to solve them. It is this honesty, that will make others help you out, not because you need it. But, because they have problems too, which you can help out with. This honesty will help us follow the other values in society and, truly, "heal(治愈)the world"!

The northern parts of the United States get very cold in winter. It snows a lot. But the cities with large population are there, like Washington D.C. and New York.

In these years, people in these regions like to take holidays during cold winter months. They go to the southern states where it is warmer, such as Florida, Texas and New Mexico.

It has become popular for old people to move south to these places when they retire. These people usually sell their houses in their home town and move south to begin a new life.

The southern parts of the country are now growing faster than the other parts. Texas and Florida are growing fast, too. They may soon replace such states as New York and Pennsylvania in population.

Li Meng, a Junior Three student, wishes she never got a mobile phone. Last week, she went to see a doctor because her arms and fingers (手指) were hurt. The doctor told her that she had a “mobile phone disease (疾病)”. A growing number of students are getting the “mobile phone disease” because more and more are using mobile phones.

Li got her mobile phone five months ago. She chatted with her friends with it all the time, even when going to bed. Li started to do badly in exams because she spent too much time playing with her mobile phone. Her mom got very angry with her, but she didn’t stop playing with the mobile phone until her arms and fingers got hurt.

Yang Liu, a doctor, says that if someone uses the mobile phone too much, like Li Meng, he might get the “mobile phone disease”. If students find their arms or fingers hurt, they should go to see a doctor as soon as possible. Yang says students should try to use their mobile phones less, especially at school.
