              Dear Seth,

You're only three years old,and at this point in your life you can't read, much less understand what I'm going to try to tell you in this letter. But someday, when you're ready,I hope you will find some wisdom and value in what I share with you.

                (1)

There will be people in your life who won't be very nice. They'll tease you or try to hurt you because you're different.

There's not much you can do except learn to deal with them, and learn to choose friends who are kind to you and who make you feel good about yourself. When you find friends like this, treasure them, spend time with them and love them.

              Be open to life anyway

Yes,you'll find cruelty and suffering in your journey through life, but don't let that close you to new things.  (2)  Be open to new things, new experiences, new people.

              Life isn't a competition

You will meet many people who will try to do better than you,in school,in college,at work.To them, life is a competition.

But here's the secret:life isn't a competition.  (3)   .Learn to enjoy the journey and make it a journey of happiness,of constant learning,of continual improvement,of love.

              Love should be your rule

If there's a single word you should live your life by,it should be this:love.  (4)

Love not only your loved ones, but your neighbors, your co-workers,strangers,your brothers and sisters in humanity.

                (5)   You are starting out on an unknown, tiring, scary, but eventually great journey, and always remember I will be there for you when I can.

Have you asked yourself the question “what do I really want to do with my life”? The question can come when you’re 18 or when you’re 50, and it’s always a difficult process to work through. It’s not hopeless, though!      (1)     .

Think about where you’ll be in five years.

The question works in either job interviews or financial plans.  (1)  Thankfully, that’s okay, and sometimes just trying to answer the question is all you need.

              Write your personal beliefs.

The ideas might sound a little silly on the surface.  (2)  Silly or not, the ideas are to give yourself a call to action to define how you want to do things.

Volunteer or shadow someone in a job you’re interested in.

Want to write a book? Go to grad school!  (3)  Just take a couple days to try on the lifestyle. To do this, you can try volunteering or shadowing someone at their job.

                (4)

              F. It’s easy to write your own beliefs but you don’t have to do it in a specific way.

Everyone has worries, but what do you do with your worries? Whether your worries are big or small, you can take three steps to deal with them.

              (4)

              Ask for help.

When you are worried, you need to find someone to communicate with.

There is an old Spanish saying which states,“Tomorrow is often the busiest day of the week”.How many times have we put off our dreams until tomorrow?  (1)  We have to go for them now!

              *Tomorrow is not promised.

Nobody likes to talk about death, but everybody is going to die at one point. None of us know the day or the hour.  (2)  Don't go to your tomb with unrealized dreams. Make the decision to go after every dream, big or small right now.

              *  (3)

One of the biggest dream killers is fear. Many people could have achieved amazing things if only they weren't afraid. Just think about all the things you've wanted to do, but allowed fear to convince you that you weren't talented, or good enough. Fear is not real.It is a product of thoughts you create.

*Take action to realize your dream.

You can dream about writing a great play, but it's never going to happen unless you actually put pen to paper. You can dream about finding a cure for cancer, but it will never happen unless you actually become equipped with the necessary tools to find that cure.  (4)

              *Possibilities are waiting on you.

There are so many amazing opportunities and people waiting on you. How do you get to them ? Simple! Follow your dream.  (5)  You'll never see those doors if you sit around waiting on a dream to happen, instead of actually working to make it happen.

              (1) A. Don't let fear win.

              B. In other words, dreams don't work unless you do.

              C. Our dreams should not,and cannot wait.

Have you ever visited a garden that seemed just right for you, where the atmosphere of the garden appeared to total more than the sum(总和)of its parts?(1).But it doesnˈt happen by accident. It starts with looking inside yourself and understanding who you are with respect to the natural world and how you approach the gardening process.

               (2).

Some people may think that a garden is no more than plants, flowers, patterns and masses of color. Others are concerned about using gardening methods that require less water and fewer fertilizers(肥料).(3).However, there are a number of other reasons that might explain why you want to garden. One of them comes from our earliest years.

              ●Recall your childhood memories

Our model of what a garden should be often goes back to childhood. Grandma’s rose garden and Dadˈs vegetable garden might be good or bad, but that’s not whatˈs important.(4).—how being in those gardens made us feel. If youˈd like to build a powerful bond with your garden, start by taking some time to recall the gardens of your youth.(5). Then go outside and work out a plan to translate your childhood memories into your grown-up garden. Have fun.

Even if you think that your parents are strict at times, loving your parents is a normal and fulfilling part of life. You love them for the fact that they created you, raised you, and are in part a source of who you are. Here are some ways to love your parents.

                (1)  A gentle “good morning” and “I love you” will warm a coldest heart. Remember that they brought you into this world. Without your parents, we might still wander at an unknown corner in an unknown world. Respect them more and enjoy these moments. You can use these moments to learn from them. It’s OK to get angry but angry actions don’t help you or your parents. Act calmly, journal about your feelings, or talk to a friend.   (2)

Obey their requests. It will make your attitude better and earn you more respect from them. It may seem like you are mad when you don’t get what you want or you have to clean. However, you had better remember they keep a roof over your head when it’s cold, raining, snowing, or too hot. Understand that parents are human beings and make mistakes.  (3)   Since you can forgive your friends, why not forgive your parents?

Keep company with them. Do things with your parents like watching TV, or go somewhere with them.   (4)  Listen to their old stories and learn from them. You will find they are your teachers in this way or another.

Some people simply may not be able to love their parents.  (5)   Seek help if you are in trouble in any way. Parents do not have a right to harm you.

              (1) A.  Forgiveness is the key.
              B.  Tell them you love them every morning.
              C.  Parents will in turn express their love to you.
              D.  After this, share your feelings with your parents.
              E.  Anyway, spend as much time with them as you can.
              F.  Please remember parents are as important as friends.

The way you design your home could affect whether you put on weight or not. You can make your environment work for you instead of against you.     (1)___

                   (1)  Dark environments are more likely to encourage overeating, for people are often less self-conscious(难为情) when they’re in darkness, and so more likely to eat lots of food.

Mind the colors.    (3)    In one study, people who ate meals in a blue room consumed 33% less than those in a yellow or red room. Warm colors like yellow make food appear more attracting, while cold colors make us feel less hungry.

Don’t forget the clock. People who eat slowly tend to consume about 70 fewer calories per meal than those who rush through their meals.    (2)  And while you’re at it, actually sit down to eat. If you need some help to slow down, turn on relaxing music. It makes you less likely to rush through a meal.

Downsize the dishes.   (3)  ___ We eat about 22% more when using a 12-inch plate instead of a 10-inch plate. When we choose a large spoon over a smaller one, total intake(摄入)jumps by 14%. And we’ll pour about 30% more liquid into a short, wide glass than a tall, skinny glass.
