The woman smiled again and   (11)  , “They belong to a rare type. So they aren’t like the ones you get in the grocery store. I hope you enjoy them.” I said “Thank you” again, and she   (12)  off.

Once I had the opportunity to play the character of Ronald McDonald for the McDonald’s Corporation. One   (1)   event was “Ronald Day”. One day each month, we visited some hospitals, bringing a little   (2)   to people there.

I was   (3)   to visit people who were experiencing some “down time”. The warmth and   (4)   I received would stay with me for weeks. I   (5)   the event.

There were two   (6)   during a visit. First I couldn’t go anywhere in the hospital without permission. Second, I could not   (7)   anyone there. But breaking either of these rules meant I could lose my job.

One day as I was passing a hallway, I heard a(n)   (12)   voice, “Ronald, Ronald.” I pushed a door open and saw a boy about five years old,   (13)   to lots of medical equipment. His parents and grandparents were beside him.

I knew by the feeling in the room his situation was   (14)  . I did some simple magic tricks for him. Before I left, the boy asked, “Would you hug me?”

Such a(n)   (15)   request! But what I was thinking was that I could lose my   (16)  . So I told him I could not do that right now, but I   (17)   that he and I color a picture. Upon   (18)   it, he asked me to hug him again.

Why could I not satisfy the request of a little boy who could   (19)   not recover and go home? I realized that in this situation, losing my job should not be the disaster I   (20)  . At last, I gave him a big hug.

              The little boy smiled broadly.

My heart beat with that feeling, pumping (涌动)it like blood to my body as my fingers flew across the piano keys.As the piece neared the end,I   (1)   up to take my final bow(鞠躬).For a second, the room was   (2)  .Yet,even in that one second,I had enough time to   (3)  whether I had done perfectly. Then,   (4)  ,the applause(掌声) came.
"Thank you…so much."I said,   (5)  to the person standing on my other side.Olga,my piano teacher for six years, smiled back at me."Youˈve been an   (6)  student all these years."She said,"I hope that whatever you do,you never stop   (7)  ."
I leaned forward,   (8)  I would keep playing because I loved piano, and hugged her.

Right after the   (10)  ,I kept up my strict practicing schedule every day.   (11)  ,it began slipping away from me.The reason I had stopped taking   (12)  was because of my busy schedule with homework. Not long after,I stopped practicing altogether. It was   (13)  not to have to stress about piano anymore.
But something was   (14)   inside of me.I was empty inside.
One day I met Michelle, who had also taken piano lessons from Olga.
"Are you   (15)   taking lessons from Olga?"she asked.
                  "Um,no! Actually I just quit a while ago,"I replied.
"Thatˈs a   (16)  ,"she responded,"You used to be so   (17)  .I remember your performance a year ago; it was breathtaking."
Two days   (18)   talking to Michelle,I subconsciously sat down on the bench and started playing.I wasnˈt even trying to make the notes sound musically correct…I was simply doing what I should have been this entire time:playing,   (19)   to be playing.
As the music spread,a(n)   (20)  feeling rose inside me.

After college graduation , I did all kinds of work . Now I am a sales agent and visit my customers all over England. That was a cold February morning and I was  (1)  to visit a store at 9 am. I parked my car, bundled my scarf around me and   (2)   up the street towards his shop front.

The street where his store was   (3)   was partially blocked by two large, ruddy faced workmen who were tearing up the concrete. I prepared myself for the  (4)   catcalls(起哄). I was up early, out in the cold, and probably to be seen as a funny scene by two men I didn’t even   (5)  .

Then I stopped and   (6)  my own father. Both he and my grandfather had  (7)  much of their early careers working outside in similar jobs before they   (8)   and became engineers. I recalled how hard Dad worked, in all kinds of   (9)   how he’d come home with sunburn or frosting(冻伤). I realized that if I felt cold then these two guys were probably   (10)  , given that it looked as though they’d already been   (11)   for hours.

My customer’s shop wasn’t open yet but I was beyond being annoyed at his  (12)  . I went to a coffee shop around the corner,   (13)   myself a hot chocolate, then two more with whipped cream. I made my    (14)   down the street towards the workmen. One of them turned to me with a wide smile and   (15)   me with a joke “Oh love, you shouldn’t have!” To his   (16)  , I passed him the tray with the two   (17)  chocolates. I replied, “Maybe not.   (18)   it’s too cold to be working outside today.”

I got two looks of genuine(真诚的)  (19)  , and a timely reminder that it’s as easy to be    (20)   as it is to prejudge, but the former is so much nicer! So I realize the things we do seem so small but important and do what we can to make this world better.

Then I heard her say, "I'm   (6)  , but I can't hear you. There seems to be something wrong   (7)   my hearing aid.'"That's too bad," I thought as I moved forward to board the flight. Then I noticed her   (8)   was becoming increasingly frantic(发狂似的)as she tried to understand the person on the other end of the phone. It was almost my   (9)   to board. I couldn't   (10)   looking back at the woman. It made me think how   (11)   I was to have my hearing. And I realized I could offer her some   (12)  .

I suddenly got out of the   (13)   and went to the woman. I showed her to   (14)   me the phone and shouted, "Let me help you. I'll tell you what the person is   (15)  ." She looked at me and agreed   (16)  . I took the phone from her,   (17)   who I was, listened for a moment, and told the woman her husband was   (18)   her outside the airport as he could not enter the gate area. Finally, I pointed her in the right (19)  .

It took me less than two minutes to finish the task, but my   (19)   in having been able to help her remains strong.
