   What a morning! I woke up earlier to make sure I had packed everything we needed for this trip. Since it was fall in the US, so I had to pack for colder weather. Moot of my suitcase was filled with gift for friends and family. I hoped nothing would get lose on the way. The most important item: a camera to take photos. After a light lunch in an airport, I sat down to wait for my flight to boarding. Luckily I had brought reading or writing materials. I was dressed comfortable -- jeans and a casual blouse -- and ready the long voyage, with an overnight stopover in Tokyo.

I remember that during the summer holidays, the weather was hot and I could not do many work, but I lived happy. In the morning I usually get up early and took a walk in the garden. After breakfast, I began read English and did some exercises in math. I worked hardly and made a great progress. I spent nearly the whole afternoon outside. I went swimming on the river and didn’t come back when it was about five or six. Sometimes a friend of me would come to see me and we would spend some hours listening to music. In this way I spent my holidays happily. I not only studied well and but also became a good swimmer.

During the summer holidays this year, I thought I should do anything meaningful instead of staying at home, so I was got a job at a restaurant, worked there as a cleaner. I worked seven hour a day for three weeks. The job was hard and bored and seemed endless, which made me so tired that I nearly gave it in half way, but I stuck to it with determination. Every day I started off for work early in the morning and got home lately in the evening. Finally I finished the job before the new term begins. Now, I understand that labor means. I went shopping yesterday afternoon. It is seven o’clock when I was going home by bus. The bus was full of passengers, all of which kept silent. A mother with her little son was sitting nearby. All of sudden, the son cried loud. The mother tried to do what she could to make him stop crying. Thus, the son went on crying. After a long time, a man sitting next of the mother said angrily, “Why don’t you give the child what he wants it.” The mother answered quietly, “I would if I could, and what he wants is your hat.” Heard this, all the passenger burst into laughter.

If I have the honor to be chose to work for the  29th Olympic Games, I will at first

improve my English so that I can talk easily about foreign visitor. Second, I will learn

more about history of the Olympics as good as the 2008 Olympic Games. Third,  since I

was familiar with Beijing, I can help visitors find their ways in the city. Finally, I should

be able to tell  visitor about our history and culture and show them their great

achievements. In short, I will do my best to help making the Games a success.

Dear Diary,   

Here I am in the middle of a city, 350 miles far away from our farmhouse. Do you want to know why we move last week? Dad lost his job, and as Mom explained, “He was lucky to find other one.” His new job meant I had to say goodbye to my classmate, my school or just everything else I love in the world. To make matters bad, now I have to share a room with my younger sister, Maggie. Tomorrow is first day of school. I am awfully tiring, but I know I will never fall sleep.

Good night and remember, you, dear diary, is my only souvenir from my past life and my only friend.

   One day I had lunch at a restaurant and bought lunch for a couple of girls 61  were sitting near my table at that time. They were discussing the cost of this or that on the menu 62 (hot) .
