In the village where I grew up, everyone knew an old man, who lived a simply life and spent all his time painting. The villagers used to admiring his works and he often gave his paintings to his friends. Whenever he was offered of money, he would not take them. He said he painted for pleasure. He once gave one of his paintings to my father, whom actually wasn’t interested in art. Years later I found it in our old house. By that time the old man has died and people started to recognize his paintings as great works of art, which was worth lots of money. An art gallery made me an offer of $5,000 for this painting and I nearly sold it, so then I decided not to. It always reminds me my childhood and of the old man who didn’t really want to make money by paint.

Some people regard keeping pets, like dogs, as useless thing. But I hold the opposite view or I have a dog myself. I keep a pet for three reasons. First, pets taught responsibility. After I get a dog, I think it’s my job to feeding him and take him for walks after school. The second reason is that he can makes a good companion for me when everyone else are busy. Now, I seldom drive Dad crazily always asking him to play with me. The third reason why I keep a pet dog is for safe. He can warn my family from danger and keep our house safe.     In the past, clapping was a sign of be part of the community, and of equality between actor and audience. The important thing was make the noise together, to add one's own small handclap to others. Now. clapping was social, like laughter: you don't very often clap or laugh out loud alone. It is like laughter in an another way, too: it is infectious and spread very quickly. Clapping at concerts and theatres is a universal habit. Dear Diana,

Yesterday my friend David came round with a new game and asked to play it by my dad's computer. I was a little worried, because my dad used it mainly for his work, and I'm only allowed to use it for my homework. It happened when my dad was out, so we tried out the game. After playing, I took it off the computer. However, when I restarted computer, I found some of my dad's documents miss. Later in the afternoon, my dad used the computer, but couldn't find the document in it. He became very angry, but I dared not to tell him about the game. Now I'm feeling regretful and disturbing. I'm not sure whether a computer's repair shop can get the documents back. Should I tell him the truth, and should I pay to repair it? I wish for your advice.

It seems that if the result is bad, which people work for will be meaningless. Personally speak, the process of fighting for the goal is less important than the result. When we fight for our goals, we will be devoted what we are doing and try to improve us. If we fail in the end, when we look back on the beginning, we will find that we are no longer the childish one. We have grown up. What's the more, in the process of fighting, we got close to success, as the saying goes that failure are the mother of success. So don't treat the result so serious; just enjoy the process.
